Hi did, but players like Cannavaro and someone mentioned Billy Wright, were exceptions. Most CBs are strapping 6ft+. I'm not saying that Hoever can't play CB - I've hardly seen him, just that the norm is not for 5'9'' players to play in that position. Even Hoever himself is quoted as saying he 'considers himself a right back'. If this is the case; presumably Doc's replacement!

I’m genuinely quite excited about this buy, remember him at the FA cup game and remember pointing him out to my friend and noting how good he was. I try not to put too much emphasis on previous team performance usually, as if I’d done that in previous years, I’d have laughed out loud being told Doherty had been sold to Spurs, Coady was playing for England and players I’d never heard of like Willy Boly were now permanent fixtures in our side - all under Nuno’s coaching, so that plus noticing him in the cup game is giving me a good feeling!
