Lets discuss Fabio and his future .

The fact that - three years after spending £35m on signing him - we’re still discussing whether he “might come good” is quite frankly a disgrace. I have absolutely nothing against Fabio and I would love him to become the type of striker we thought he might be, but it makes my blood boil watching...

How do we avoid a relegation battle next season?

Create a style based simple and consistent way of playing. (Few sides are able to cope with complex methods and strategies). Hopefully stemming from this, and it’s one of the most overlooked but important factors in elite sport is to generate a level of confidence within the squad that...

Every professional football match should be televised or streamed

If they're really worried about the impact PL Live streaming would have on other domestic games, I would be more than happy to move to the American model of having specific time slots / days of the week for different leagues. How would people feel if Premier League games were never played at 3pm...

    Raul Jimenez

It’s four weeks until the knock out stages of the WC. That’s quite a long time. Not inconceivable for a player in the latter part of a recovery period to be fit again a whole month from today and there be nothing sinister about it. Jimenez is a proper talisman for them. It’s not that far...

    Spurs verdict

As far back as when we lost Barry Douglas’s set piece goals and assists we’ve been really poor at replacing the players that scored our goals. Douglas, Doherty, Jota - plus arguably Jimenez during this lengthy injury lay-off. All went and were replaced with players that had proven over several...

BBC Radio 5 Decide " No Time For Classified Results "

Very odd decision. I must confess, I rarely proactively look outside the Premier League results on my app these days and if I do it might be a just a quick check of the Championship. Therefore I quite liked having the Classifieds as a way of knowing what else was going on throughout the leagues...

    107.7 the wolf

Still fondly remember those days of the Wolf. We always seemed to live right on the edge of where the signal broadcast to (Shrewsbury and Leominster) and would have to head to the highest point in the house to pick up a grainy signal and barely discernible commentary. My Dad & his Wolves...

The happy days are here again, hopefully no more repeated arguments, transfer thread

Playing devil’s advocate: I’m a Chairman controlling the controllables. No guarantees if we do sign a player(s) it automatically converts to points. Whereas planning how much I spend and when I spend it is something I can control. Also where we finish in the league, yes will benefit us, but is...

The happy days are here again, hopefully no more repeated arguments, transfer thread

Four players on £50k a week is £1.6m in wages over two months. Not saying it’s a major reason, but if I were a financially minded chairman looking to stretch my finances I’d also probably leave signings until later in the window than sooner. Also, a major cash flow benefit in getting your...

The happy days are here again, hopefully no more repeated arguments, transfer thread

Sums my thoughts up very nicely. There are some unbelievably self entitled "supporters" out there - many posting daily on here it seems. Perhaps they should club together to create a conglomerate that generates the billions in revenue needed to sustain the type of club they desire.

    Summer Transfer Window 2022.

Two things: one) they hold considerably more debt on the balance sheet than cash, so if all their debtors asked for their money back, they wouldn't be able to pay it. With interests rates rising too, interest payments could be a big challenge. Two) They're spending more than they earn and...

    Summer Transfer Window 2022.

Absolutely shocking that a selling club has agreed to not one, but two offers from separate clubs and is now leaving it to the player to decide which is the best option for him. It's as if they're trying to get the best value out of the sale possible. Booo Shi out!

Poll - Watch Jeff Shi's interview and vote !

Glad we have such pragmatic, sensible owners - focused on the longterm health of our club. They’re running it as a business not a toy and they’re not prepared to gamble on short term bets that placate a few thousand big mouths on social media.

    The ‘Sustainability’ Paradox

For years fans have proclaimed that other teams will finish above us due to greater financial power (back in the championship it was always the relegated teams with parachute payments that would do it). It's not that simple. Those teams might finish above us. They might not. There's not much...

    The ‘Sustainability’ Paradox

This is my view. Every choice made is calculated on a risk/reward basis. It's easy to say "we were so close...all we needed was another player", but 1) there is no guarantee that any player will make the difference 2) the cost of the type of player that would on the balance of probability make...

    Wolves 1877 Trust AGM 2022

Interesting that one of their “achievements” was raising issue with club sponsors Bitci and their use of fan tokens which could be considered a gateway to gambling. Yet on the back page of the same presentation they proudly display the logo of a Wolverhampton Casino who are an official...

Staying @ Wolves - Traore or Trincao or Barca / Sporting Swap Deals??

Not the first player to come from Spain and initially struggle with the intensity, strength and power of the Premier League. If (big if) he can spend preseason adding some muscle and getting his head around what’s needed to compete game in game out against seasoned Premier League defenders and...

Have Villa Owners more Ambition than The Wolves Owners ?

Context… I think Fosun have earned the right to take stock and consolidate. Have Villa, Everton and even Arsenal got much to show for their higher net spend than us? Demonstrates how easy it is to waste money on basically chasing/cementing 7th place each year.

Fabio Silva - value for money???

The type of signing that only a Man City or Chelsea could afford to make and sit on until it matures, yet we decided to blow several season’s worth of transfer pot on him after just three seasons in the PL and, as it turns out by recent evidence, with a very limited future budget.

Wolves v Spurs (EFL Cup) comms thread.

Understand the strengths and limitations of the players at your disposal and set out a formation, structure and create a game plan that maximises the former and minimises the latter. Currently we're seemingly happy to completely ignore our limitations and hope that we can simply out-attack...
