Firstly because of his poor decision making in terms of managerial appointments.
Secondly because there is quite clearly something not right about the club...and being the owner, it's up to him to have done something to change this.
Investment wise, I cringe when I hear critiscm as he has made a great balance of investing well, improving the stadium, training ground and academy. Plus, we are also very well run. Be careful what you wish for in this sense.
But decision making - he has made a 100% $$$$ up during the past 18 months. He was unlucky in that Curbishley did the u-turn which was something that he could do nothing about and I do sympathize with the appointment of Connor as in effect he was the only other option as any other manager knew they had already been turned down. Solbakken appointment I liked from a visionary and intent POV, but from that moment on giving him only 6 months and getting somebody in completely different didn't justify the original appointment, the turn of the year has just been the final straw for me.
Contrary to what most think, he does care, he does have the right intentions but he has just made the wrong decisions, and painfully.
The buck has to stop with him.
However, the players have used this as an excuse to hide. They have been complete an utter cowards. Cowards. In particular, Karl Henry.
But back to Morgan, he now needs to come out and stop letting Moxey be the fall man as he is a complete PR disaster.
Talk Morgan, talk - we need to know what you think.
Many owners sell up when they are confronted with how the fans feel about them week after week. I predict that this will start properly on Sunday, the fans have had enough now.
Morgan. All those on that list have played their part, but as owner it all comes down to Morgan. At the end of the day, he puts those people in their positions which enable them to cause problems and he gives them the resources to determine how well they do their job.
Everyone on that list must shoulder some of the blame, but that is all down to the abysmal decision making and management from Steve Morgan
Ultimately Morgan ... only he has the power to change matters ... and he doesn't (or should that be 'he can't make a good decision if he tries') ... I hope you're enjoying your bit of fun with our club Mr Morgan ... coz we bleedin aint!!!!!!
Sorry but the base and backbone of this sorry mess is Mick McCarthy's Championship team which he failed to move on when he had the opportunity. Instead he spent £7m on Steve Fletcher and had him or Doyle sitting on his bum.
It would have been diffiucult for Morgan to have got rid of McCarthy quickly and he would have been condemned from all corners. Football sticks together.
In the same way it was difficult for Staale to make sweeping changes just coming in to English football for the first time.
The players are rubbish technically and in the end that actually matters Mick.
Surprised there is not a 'Roger Johnson' option the way it is here!
And how can it be MM? No need to get into any debate, FACT is he was here and we were a PL side, and had slipped into the R zone for the FIRST time that year, if he was here now we WOULD NOT be 22nd.
Its not his fault we are heading to League 1 at all
1. Morgan. Bought himself a Subbuteo, got distracted by his Lego. And as per Barclays, RBS, etc, when the buck stops...
2. Moxey. 12 years in the job and he's very, very sorry. So are we Jez.
3. The Players (with a few exceptions just now, eg Danny Batth). Too many who think they're better than they are, too many who are no better than they ought to be, and too many bad eggs.
Everyone employed by the club to produce results (management, coaches, players, CEO, board members) needs to take responsibility. But the buck really stops with those in leadership positions. They're paid more to make difficult decisions and show some leadership but seem to have repeatedly got those wrong, passed the buck or offered only hollow rhetoric. We're sleepwalking into an absolute tragedy here.
McCarthy for spending three years in the Premiership, and still playing with the bulk of our championship winning team during our final Premiership season - despite spending over £40m on players.
Morgan for not sacking him after the Blackburn game at the end of the second season. We stayed up with 10 minutes to go. The signs were there that Mick had lost it. But no, Morgan stuck with him - and despite us struggling again in the 3rd season, conceeding between 3-5 goals most games and losing convincingly, they stuck with him again. He should definately have gone during the January transfer window - but no, we waited. We waited until a month later, after the window had closed, more games had been lost, and it was too late to bring in a decent manager that could make changes straight away - so we took on Connor. Awful decision! He was an inexperienced and poorer version of Mick.
The season ends, and then rather than looking at an experienced, proven manager at this level like Curbishley, that would have had the balls to come in and move on the old guard, they opted for an inexperienced foreigner. Probably because he was a cheaper option, and would get on with it - whereas someone like Curbishley would have probably wanted a good wage, and demands/assurances from the board. Basically, I don't think the club wanted a manager that would have been tricky or demanding to work with. I suspect they wanted easy-going, soft touch, managers. As a result of that, Solbakken has been and gone, and Saunders has come in and struggled to make an impact either.
I don't blame Solbakken and Saunders - they've jumped at the offer of big jobs for them, and our circumstances were perhaps too much for them. The blame for Solbakken and Saunders' appointments lies with Morgan.
Morgan, for me, gets the bulk of the blame - every decision that has been made over the past 12 months has been shocking.
The players have to take some flack though too - they're poor, but not 3rd from bottom poor. Mid table would have been a fair place for this bunch - but to be 3rd from bottom, and not showing any passion or fight, they need to take a long hard look at themselves because they're a disgrace.
Steve Morgan.....totally inept as a football club owner. Unfortunately we're paying the price for his hard on of owning a football club after his failure of buying Liverpool.
According to some of the Old posters on here it is apparently us on Mol Mix who are to blame for the demise of this $$$$ team. Turns out the players and manager are instantly informed of which Mol Mix poster said what about them, forcing their heads down and hurting their feelings, the precious little snowflakes.
