Both Everton and Palace with strong line ups.

It figures - there's been approx a weeks break to this fixture and winter break ahead with reduced fixtures in Jan.

Apart from giving one or two fringe players a go (for morale or for Afcon/Asia cup absences) there's no reason why we and any other prem club should not go strong in these third round cup games this season, given the fixture list.

Salisbury on VAR is it. What a shock

Pathetic beyond words. Clyne knew as well that if he writhed about that they'd examine it. If he gets straight up they don't even look at the tackle.

Problem is that his foot was high, and he got the player before the ball. I think every ref will give that as red once they've seen it back.

Terrible play acting again to get an opponent sent off.

Honestly, not that I thought they would've scraped a result but DCL will now miss:

vs Aston Villa (H)
vs Fulham (A)
vs Tottenham (H)

Crazy decision. I mean, you are allowed to lift your foot off the floor when you are sliding and trying to stretch for the ball as DCL was doing. He barely touched the other player, and there was no force or recklessness as far as i could see.

Hard to fathom

Just as you see with players flying down in the box when there's a bit of contact. That's another perfect capture of how VAR encourages cheating because there's no downside to it. Often you'll get the decision/benefit you want as they're terrified of missing something, and if you don't so what? You don't lose anything.

Clyne was completely fine. But he knew if he writhed around that VAR would try and find the mistake in it. It's pathetic.

Trust VAR to create some controversy!

Wouldn’t be surprised if Everton appealed and won .
