Of all our players out on loan, who is most likely to come back and make an impact for us?

Dexter, Yerson, Chiquinho?

Chiqunho can’t play for us this season. He has already played for two clubs, so he’s in Portugal for the season. Probably for the best instead of riding the bench.

Sunday 12th November

Theo Corbeanu & Nigel Lonwijk are both injured so were absent as Grasshoppers beat Lausanne Ouchy, 5-2

Bendeguz Bolla played 60 mins as Servette beat bottom of the league Basel, 4-1

Daniel Podence was subbed on at half time, but was replaced two minutes from the end as Olympiacos beat Asteras 2-0 away. Not sure if injury related.

Goncalo Guedes came on with 3 minutes of normal time to play with Benfica trailing 1-0 to a Victor Gyokeres goal for Sporting. Two very late injury time goals saw Benfica come out winners 2-1.

Guedes isn't getting much game time with Benfica is he. Still recovering from that injury?

he's featured in 7 of the last 8 but yes 4 of those have been less than 10 minutes each.

They are top of the league so won't be automatically playing and tbh, he wasn't getting loads of minutes in the loan last season (he featured regularly, but again was limited to sub appearances).

He needs to stay fit, then hopefully take his opportunity when it comes, maybe then it'll kick on

Chem not getting a look in again tonight for Charlton, I know they've changed manager but any other reason? Was hopeful to see him get some games there

Edit : 8 minutes of normal time left 5-1 up

Nigel Lonwijk's loan at Grasshoppers has been officially ended due to a torn hamstring
That’s sad news for him. Going to Grasshoppers was a mistake, imho, we should have tried to get him another season at Plymouth - a season in the Championship would have been a better test for him.

He wasn't getting loads of game time at the back end of his loan to Plymouth, so absolutely no guarantee they'd have played him in the Championship.

Besides, an injured player is an injured player - he hasn't played at Grasshoppers because he's been injured. No one would know if he'd have picked up no injuries if he'd have gone somewhere different

Alfie Pond didn’t feature for Stockport yesterday.

However he was definitely doing a fitness test an hour before kick off and looked a bit uncomfortable. So possibly why he didn’t make the bench.

The manager mentioned that the club had a lot of fixtures in the next 6 weeks and that all first team players will be featuring as he intends to rotate and utilise the squad.

No Ollie Tipton for Notts C in their 4-2 home win over Bradford City

As above from @topcat99 , no Alfie Pond for Stockport in their 2-0 win over Colchester

90 mins for Louie Moulden as Rochdale beat Aldershot 2-1

Apologies if this, off Wikipedia, has been posted elsewhere ("Dale" short for Rochdale)

"The 21-year-old is the son of former Dale striker Paul Moulden, who played 21 games for the club in the 1995/96 season, and the grandson of Tony Moulden, who appeared eight times in the 1960s."

Nice family link there, didn't realise.

I like Louie, always looked a good prospect to me. Might not make it with us - though he's still a" kid"in the world of goalkeeping so time is on his side - but seems to have a great attitude and hopefully a good career ahead of him.

Excellent article in the athletic on Mosquera and what a brilliant loan he’s had

“He’s in the conversation for defender of the year with what he’s meant for our group; his recovery over distance — nobody’s running by him — his ability to win tackles, to defend the box, to read service and how to challenge.

“On the ball, his comfort level to play out of pressure and his decision making continues to improve. He’s been instrumental in our success. If you look at the entirety of our league and what players can play at top clubs, Yerson is one of them. He’s an elite talent.

“He has the ability to be one of the best defenders on a bigger stage. I know that sounds like a reach, but he can get there. He’s a great kid. I hope he gets there.”

Sounds like he’d fit into how we play perfectly

As an aside what was the name of the winger we picked up from Chelsea (I think it was under Jackett) who I don’t think played many minutes for us before going on loan to a League2 side? He didn’t play much there either and eventually got released and I think went non League if memory serves me right

Could well be ....we would all like him to get a chance for the remainder of the season... BUT the problem Yerson will have going forward is he will need to be named in the 17 foreign spots....

Obviously he could replace Jonny but we would need to shift Jonny ...and we may have other positions like striker we want to use a spot for....

It's not as straightforward normally as just get him back ....

It’ll be a balancing act with Yerson with regards the foreign spot (unless he doesn’t count due ti his age when he signed, the rules seem to move?) but also what’s best for his development as he needs playing time. If he comes back he’s fifth choice CB in a “three”, so it’s a struggle to see him getting game time unless we get a couple of injuries. Personally I’d gamble and send him to the championship and use the 4 cb’s we have and hope on injuries. Whilst not ideal we do have a few who could “fill in” for suspensions in Johnny, Doc and Lemina who have all played in a back 3 in the past. Not tempting fate but it’s unlikely we get two cb’s injured long term

He takes a foreign spot.

But jonny is the most likely to be moved on, we still need a striker though

Jonny will take some engineering out the door in my opinion. His injury record is poor, his game time for two seasons is low (when he has played he’s been below average) and his wages are astronomical for the average La Liga team to play. He may be the first player in a long time at wolves where we have to pay him off and go down the “mutual consent” route. It’s a shame as he was different class at one point, but those injuries have really done for him

He is still highly professional from all accounts but apparently just not physically up to the PL any more.

Oh god yeah, he doesn’t come over a bad egg and he’ll know himself that he’s finished at that level. Begs the question would you walk away from a lucrative contract in that position? I know I wouldn’t, I’d sit my time out at wolves and then as a free transfer he’ll maximise his wages again in what realistically will probably be his last professional one. Is that a sporting prospect? Absolutely not but it’s a financial one and he has to do right by himself and his family.

It’s not much of a different scenario to Phil Jones had at United, they desperately tried to offload him due to injury but he sat it out knowing financially for him and his family it was the correct thing to do

Once you are over 21 and foreign, you will have to be named .....We can all want them to stay but can you fit them in the quota ...that's the balancing act....if not they will have to go out on loan...

Personally I think second half of the season in the championship would be great for his development. Come back in the summer and have a proper look preseason
