Having Steve Bruce as your manager in 2022 really is grim.

The other merry-go-round of that ilk have all found themselves deservedly outdated or in the wilderness. Look at Mark Hughes - Is he still at League 2 Bradford?

Yet here Bruce is, somehow, clinging on to a job in the Championship. Great stuff.

37 minutes gone and Tesco look rubbish!

Losing to Boro 1-0, could easily be 3-0.

Giles playing great at wing back. Created goal and set up a few chances. Great crosses from the left.

Plenty of time but they don’t look good.

Shame!

I watched the last bit of the first half and thought the same about them lot. The thing is, employing those type of managers just doesn't work in the same way it did a few years ago. Football has moved on.

Is on!

They took an age to decide. Luckily, taking several minutes to agonise over offside decisions isn't something that annoys fans.
If anything, I find it enriches the experience.

It's great when your team score....but might not score...but seem to have scored(?)

Just saw that, nice to read. Hopefully a breakout season from Giles.
He was having one last season then they ****ed it up by bringing him back and sending him to a different team where he wasn’t used in the same way.

How can it take so long to make a decision. VAR is back to ruin football.

Man City looking considerably better since Grealish went off. Good player, but he really doesn't suit their style of play. Good job Pep is absolutely immune from criticism and they only spent 100 million on him.

Defo peno. How did Pawson miss that in real time??? So so clear

Because he's a bottler. Knew he could rely on VAR to give it. Far too many refs do that now. The problem is it isn't always as clear as that one therefore some don't get given when they should and vice versa. See Moutinho at the Etihad or the Everton one against Man City as perfect examples.

Well said. I don't mind mistakes. We all make them. But the lack of consistency is maddening

Just for reference it's not just the Women's Euros Final for England vs Germany this weekend. In Bucaramanga, Colombia the Brazilians who have won 7 out of 8 previous Copa America tournaments will kick off against the hosts in a few minutes. Vamos Co-lom-bia!

Colombia 0 Brazil 1 through a penalty to the stronger and slightly better team on the night. Well done to all involved. Women's football moves on!

This chick doing the pre game entertainment looks like the actress who plays Lady Marjorie(Joffrey’s wife) in G.O.T.

I must admit that when Germany equalised in the final quarter of normal time (both the equaliser and England's opener were excellent goals) I had an awful feeling of deja vu. Thankfully the England women's game management was much better than their male counterparts after the scruffy winner. It was so satisfying to see Germany getting wound up in the last few minutes. How many times have German teams done that to England?
