Thought long and hard about starting this thread, but maybe some on here knew him.

Sadly Pete passed away today from septicaemia. First met Pete in 1964, young 12 year old from Newport travelling on Greatrex Coaches (Stafford) to a Wolves away game, living near Newport travelled on Happy Days to home games. Since that day travelled the length and breadth of the Country following the Wolves, through the good times and the bad. From the Fox to the George and more recently to be found in the Stile. My best mate, who lived and breathed the Wolves and will be sadly missed.

RIP Pete.

Sadly didn't know the guy but suspect you have the cause of death wrong.
Depending on his character he might have been amused though.
RIP for your friend though.

This is very sad news. I knew Goof well going back 50 plus years. Obviously we got to know each other at Wolves games. Often used to bump into him at away games in the 70s. We also used to see each other around Telford when I lived there. RIP old friend.

Cheers, curse auto-correction, hopefully corrected, but no state to make sure.

Still hard to accept he's gone, spoke to him 48 hours ago, wished I could speak to him right now. Telford Wolf legend, character and gentleman. Miss you mate.

Heard this sad news earlier this morning via Mark from Telford Wolves.
If anyone knows and loves Telford Wolves as much as I do, they will know what an incredibly kind, supportive and close knit bunch they are.
The numerous tributes to Pete Lewis on their FB page today are testimony to the high regard that they held Pete in.
He will be very sadly missed.
Rest in Peace.

My mate Pete
Had a long good chat with Rhoswolf this afternoon
Pete was a ****ing legend and loved him to death
Went with Pete to Turin, Turkey, Portugal and Spain on our recent European adventures and believe you me we had ****ing great times
Shared our hotel room together in Barcelona and never imagined it would be our last time
In fact in Barcelona he said to me as he did on many occasions he said he would live to 100 and I believed him
He passed away at 9.15 this morning aged 67
Make no mistake this man was and will always be a Wolves legend
Don’t mind admitting crying my ****ing eyes whilst writing this ( Rhoswolf knew him for over 50 years) Rhos I know you are going through the mill mate
Pete I loved you to bits and miss you more than I/you could ever imagine
Love you Pete you are ****ing magic

Never met him, but couldn't read without passing on my condolences to all who did.
Judging by the moving tributes on here, He sounds like a great friend and man.

Hope you all take solace in the memories, good and bad.

Rip Pete.

Such sad news and all my love and thoughts to all that knew Pete.

When this is all over and we are able to socialise, embrace, cheer and celebrate again we need to ensure that alongside the thanks to NHS, Care Workers, essential workers etc we as a fan base and club are given the opportunity to cheer and celebrate the lives of those within our support base who are no longer with us!

Out of Darkness must Cometh Light and I’m sure that @PumpKing will be able to work with our great club if it’s something that is deemed positive.

News like this is heartbreaking as I have people I know from Wolves who I have known for years, but only because we drink in the same pub, eat at the same chippy or sit in the same seat that we have for years....I know hundreds of faces but so few names!

I’m picturing them all now from The Combermere, Steve Bull J5 etc and sending virtual hugs!

Take care, and again please accept my condolences to all that knew Pete. One of us!

Why did you think long and hard?

Have not the faintest idea who he was but from personal experience it's always more difficult when people we class as friends, and of course family, pass unexpectedly which seems to be the case here.

Best wishes to those left who will miss him.

Working on this as we post pal.
We must make this tribute as special as we can, as they all deserve it for what they are doing,
So sad and poignant that along with the usual large number of helpers that I get from Telford Wolves, Pete Lewis would have no doubt been one of the lads working hard helping to lay the tribute out in the stadium.
