I loved it when Nuno said "we understand each other" in response to a question asking what he had said at halftime. There was a mixture of mirth and menace in his tone. What a man, what a motivator.

And his honesty regarding our (& Southampton's) first half performance contrasts directly with most other PL managers, & in particular Hasenhuttl's refusal to acknowledge a tag team penalty on Jonny.

I’m not understanding the fairly widespread dismissing of xG. Think it’s a good stat.

Not like it’s going to help you win games, but it does give indicators on quality of performance.
Look at the ones from the Citeh and Chelsea games.
The managers can hardly go in and give them a roasting after those, as realistically, both should have won comfortably.

I do agree with this. Nuno is very honest, the absolute tripe there bloke came out with about the penalty was embarrassing.
I always liked Mick for the same reason. To be fair Lampard is usually very fair as well, but most talk absolute guff.

Apparently you just take the xg, then divide by the number of the day of the week, add the number of subs used, divide by the 0/10 ratio on how much of a **** the ref is, and it gives you the goal total.

Yet just put 0 cos VAR will rule it handball or offside anyway.

In general I agree about Vicki Sparks but she was much lower key tonight and bearable. Perhaps the message got home or otherwise she found nothing exciting to shout/screech about.

IIRC he had to attend a anger management course after a big bust up at one of his previous clubs.

Perhaps this is how they taught him to cope and not blow a gasket.
