Good stuff. Bit of a statement signing, actually a proven but still relatively young player who has played at a good level his entire career and internationally.

From official Valencia site
Valencia CF and Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club have reached an agreement this Monday, August 8, for the transfer of Gonçalo Guedes to the English club.

Guedes arrived at Valencia CF in 2017 from Paris Saint Germain and has played 198 games in all competitions, in which he has scored 40 goals and provided 32 assists. His first match as a Valencianista was played on September 9, 2017 against Atlético de Madrid and in 2019 he was one of the players who lifted the Copa del Rey in Seville.

The Club thanks him for his professionalism as a Valencia CF player and wishes him the best of luck in this new stage of his career.

I know you don't exactly rate the guy but I'm guessing you didn't watch the opening game when he was one of our better players.

And no Wolves player should be made a scapegoat, surely?
Didn’t watch it, I was at the game!!
He was awful first half and had a decent second half

2nd best player against Leeds, won a ton of ball in a very difficult role.
Not a chance IMO
He was awful first half but had a decent second half
Collins, Kilman, Neves, MGW, Podence and Neto were all better and maybe even Heaney was more effective

£50m spent with no major outgoings... the statement is "it's bs we're skint".
We also signed Hwang this summer don’t forget for what, £15m?

So we’re on maybe £65m without incoming funds!

However, let the Shi and Sellors bashing continue, no point in letting the facts get in the way!!

Hopefully more to come as well Waggie.

Maybe owner Guo’s visit for the friendly in Portugal was the catalyst.

The 25-year-old has become Wolves' second signing of the summer after the £20.5million capture of Nathan Collins, and adds significant depth and quality to the attacking areas.
The versatile forward can play out wide and more centrally and eases the burden on Wolves' forwards, with Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore and Chiquinho all sidelined with injury.
Guedes is represented by Gestifute and Jorge Mendes, who have close ties to Wolves, and the parties involved have moved quickly to get the deal over the line.
The forward was left out of the squad for Valencia's friendly win over Atalanta on Saturday as Wolves worked to finalise the deal.

Chairman Jeff Shi said: “We have been monitoring Goncalo for a long time and are very pleased to welcome him to Wolves. He has natural talent and has performed very well across Europe and for his country, and we think he is well suited to the Premier League.

“We are always looking to improve the squad with high quality, and have been patient to make sure we got the right player. Goncalo worked with Bruno at Benfica and played with many members of our squad previously, so we’re confident he will settle quickly into the group here.

“Very few transfers are ever straightforward, and this was no exception, with a number of clubs trying to secure the player right up until the last minute. Now, we are delighted that Goncalo is a Wolves player and look forward to giving him a warm welcome at Molineux this Saturday.”

Shi has commented on both the Coady/Guedes deals. I wonder what has happened to Sellars?

Welcome Goncalo!

Definitely an exciting signing, will our midfield give him enough early ball though? Stay tuned.

Been waiting for this signing since we were first linked years ago. Extremely happy right now.

So much flexibility with being able to play all across the forward line, including most recently as a part of a front 2.

The most statement signing we have made for 2 years (since Semedo). Fingers crossed he flourishes

And before that, Moutinho and Patricio. Looking forward to football again after Saturday's kick in the guts! This is the first player we've signed since Patricio that I thought would be out of our league. Semedo was well known, but also known to be very out of favour at Barca, especially after that 8-2 defeat, so was hardly a surprise at that point.
