This is spot on and that's why found/find the southbank singing 'where were you when we were ****' pathetic. Maybe those in J9 / J10 should respond with a chant of 'in your seat'.
My mate normally points at his seat he's had for ages and says "here". Myself, I've only been back there for eleven years after I was stuck doing night shifts.
It's only for a laugh anyway :)

Yeah to be fair I do think for a lot it is just a laugh remember the first time I heard it (Fulham at home I was in the Billy Wright lower) it got me really angry at first but the southbank soon did follow it up with 'we love you Steve Bull we do' (I think some had realised how pathetic it sounded).

Sure there is some in there who do have that chip on their shoulder (that they're second season ticket in the southbank brings them!) blinding them to the irony though....but not too many.

Friend just got tix for the forest game and said the lower tier SB is for away fans. Not checked myself but that will make for a better atmosphere if true.

From J9 we couldn’t hear the Brentford fans except one time, barely. The noise just doesn’t seem to travel at all. I am a glory hunting ex south banker too (Many years with a season ticket followed by a few years away). It’s odd being in the SB but getting used to it :) Always preferred away games anyway.

Yeah it is, may also mean a fair few Wolves fans missing out though if recent attendances are anything to go by.

I noticed when getting my tickets (literally the minute they went on sale to members) that the Bully upper (with exception of J1 and J10 which were still shut at the time not sure now) was already sold out.

I'm in the family enclosure for that one.

Lots of tickets in SB J10 this morning, so I’m told.

I didn't notice it last night to be honest but when I moved my ST for Bolton it was very evident.

I find it a real shame but I think the players need us most during the 90 minutes and bar the odd 5 minutes here or there we all failed on that count last night.

I think if we got each stand to sing their North/South/SB Molineux song next home game and then all three break out into We are Wolves/Wolves Ay We at the end would be ace! I love the Steve Bull almost being master of ceremonies last night.

To be fair i think the majority of the time its just banter. Last night it was in response to Steve bull singing never had a baggie in my seat. Against Ipswich it was again after a chant from SB about the south bank.

Best the atmosphere got last night was shortly after that exchange when j9 and j10 teamed up with the southbank to try and prevoke the northbank into song, and to be fair it worked and sounded great for the short time it lasted

That would be brilliant... definitely We Are Wolves though. It's less cheesy and more powerful that the Wolves At We chant.... massively under used song lately

Steady on! Most opposition fans I know admire our support

It's not ideal and does annoy me, but I think we'll come through it. Man City have similar issue!

The away support is phenomenal. Always has been. But I wonder if it shows that when a team is being successful it will bring the extra casual/arm chair supporter who are not the types who are typically bothered about staying until the bitter end, particularly if a game appears well and truly won or lost. We saw similar against Bolton.

The only problem is that sound takes time to travel so if three sides of the ground sang the same song it wouldn't be in unison and the effect would be confusing. This happened at either the Bolton or Sunderland game and I posted on here that it sounded strange. The South Bank started off followed by the Steve Bull and then the North Bank and it petered out into a mess with the South Bank being ahead all the time.

A short repeated cry of "Wanderers!" would work but not a chant of any length.

And we wonder why a lot of other team's fans say Wolves support (in general) is bad. If they can't stay to cheer on THIS team no wonder the players hate playing at home when we are doing bad.
Our support is at least the equal of any in the land. Yes, there have been times when players have been treated unfairly but this happens any place where the support is passionate surely?

The fire drill issue is a peculiar one which needs some investigation. Will anyone on molmix be brave enough to explain why they bob off early? They'd have my full respect for sticking their neck out. It can't be about the parking because there's no reason I can think of for North Bankers to be affected any more than those in other stands...

They park over on that side of the ground, I reckon.

Walked past about 5000 north bankers(!) congregated on Adsa car park waiting for a marshall in a high vis and a clipboard to escort them back in.

I don’t want to moan today, but Jesus Christ what is the matter with people leaving early? I’m not talking 5 minutes, I’m talking 10 and 15 minutes. The lads are running their *******s off and people can’t even be ***** to stop and clap them off. It’s embarrassing.

I don’t care if people have a train or bus to catch, want to miss the traffic or it’s a school night. The people next to me left on 70 mins and do so regularly!

The players are clapping half empty stands at the end. Good god.
Yes I see your point and agree with your comments. The only thing I can think is that a fair portion was of those were Corporates from the WV1 Bar and Resteraunt. The possible cause is the problem regarding the Car Park which s closed for exiting cars from 15 mins prior to the match finishing and then for between 15 to 30 mins afterwards. Meaning those with who desire to get home as soon as possible make an early exit rather than sit in their cars going nowhere. When the car park is eventually open it takes ages to get off the car park as cars edge their way to the exit point jostling for position and in doing so make any orderly departure impossible. Not that I would ever leave before final whistle as I consider that to be an insult to our team. It may not be the only reason but it is certainly one that I know definitely happens.

I went early. Hold my hands up.

I have to get a train back to Redditch, with the weather and maintenance works on railway between brum and wolves, I had to be cautious in getting back home.

I used to have get back to the ditch mate, and then a bus back to Winyates, but I'm pretty sure most of the North Bank don't live there! There are always those who need to bob off early but it seems endemic in the North Bank this season. It's really weird because, although they haven't been particularly vocal since a few years before the rebuild, they always stuck around as long as everyone else.

So "we're all in it together" but you don't go anymore for a frankly ridiculous reason?

Disagree if done loud enough it can be done across all 3 or 4 stands in unison.

Was never a problem in the 90s when both end (and some in either side) regularly sang the same songs.

Do you go away often? If so do you prefer home games ?
Yes mate, go to most away games and prefer them to home games much like yourself.

However I still really enjoy home games. I'm local so in fairness it is easy for me.

I think @Finch3d could be onto something, with the concourse space & dozens of TV’s it probably is fans going back under the concourse standing near the exits & watching the last 5 mins plus injury on TV then running out as soon as the whistle goes.

You could argue some have a better view that way when attacking the South Bank but it’s not right for me.
The lad and Dad who sit next to me (North Bank lower) leave early every game. They watch last 5 / 10 minutes on TVs in concourse before leaving sharpish. I suspect that there's a lot doing this. Need to switch off the TVs.

I don't live near Wolverhampton now and work away , hence my low away return .
Not looking for any arguments with regards people leaving early but we don't all know their circumstances.
BTW I will message you when I next go to an away game for a pint but a visit away beckons on business

Could be, but both side stands don't have a car park so surely there are almost as many car drivers in there?
Billy Wrighters probably park over at West Park but I don't know about Steve Bullers. South Bankers use the pub first and then either walk or use the train.

Volume isn't the issue, it's the speed of sound which is. By this I mean that when the North Bank hear what the South Bank are singing the South Bank are already singing a couple of syllables on so when the North Bank join in to sing what they think is at the same time they're already behind the South Bank. The result is a confusion of resonating sound. You just have to see a cricket ball being hit from the boundary to understand how this will happen.
But as I said above, short chants which are interspersed would work.

I can only comment from what I heard a month or so ago.

No I prefer away day fans and easier access routes. Sorry you are far better than me
I was doing the same as you in league 1, not out of principle but because I live in the south and if I'm gonna travel I'd rather have a good **** up and a good sing song. That season I went to 10 aways and fewer home games. But then I missed the Wolves pubs, a good ale in the Lych Gate and a rowdy time in the Hogshead afterwards.

It was ace in the Hogs after the Mickswich game. As I've said before, I'm looking forward to the Bully next season.

Oh i am Sorry

Didnt realise to be a wolves fan meant you had to also sign up to molmix pre fosun.

If only someone had of told me years ago i could have saved a fortune on home and away season tickets, let alone travel.

Never think to go in the hogs after a game always seems like more of an early doors watch the early televised game to me. Might give it a try Saturday.

It's a battle to get to the bar but after that Ipswich game the atmosphere was amazing. There was a fairly short lad stood on his seat orchestrating things, leading a few good renditions of 'I was born...', OUAT, and all the Stevie Bull songs. My brother got a video but it's mainly of the attractive girls sitting next to us.
