Benik Afobe - daughter has died

It’s beyond painful for Benik and family but the support by Matt, the club and the crowd today is awesome. And I have to say Maddison has gone up considerably in my estimation...I hope the family can gain some small comfort from these gestures

If there was any fitting scorer this afternoon, it had to be Matt.

It was a beautiful gesture, from a man who met a special human in Amora and his father and clearly bonded, through more than just football.

Knowing too that I have 2 older sisters that I never met - as they passed before birth, completely puts sport into complete irrelevance.

And as shown with the love for Benik today, that couldn’t be more true.

Could we maybe organise a flag or banner for the West Ham/Brighton games? Just a simple message like “once a Wolf always a Wolf, we’re with you Benik”?

I would be glad to arrange for this to be displayed, if anyone can arrange for any sort of banner message for Benik and his family.

Losing a 2 year old must be the worst kind of bereavement anyone can have, especially when completely unexpected. Heart goes out to him. Time can never heal something like that.

Horrible news, proud of the Southbank yesterday hearing Benik's name ring around the place.
