There's a fuzzy-faced defender who I'd like to see removed from our club without delay. Please sort it out.

Back four and buying good, technically gifted players rather than workhorses like Dave Edwards.

Duncan Goodhew, we believe in you.

Team shape and strategy without the ball. We've always looked like scoring in the last few years. But we've looked vulnerable without the ball for years, including our promotion season. Most shots against by a mile this season says it all. And this is certainly not just a problem within the back 4.

Centre midfield for me as we saw the difference a top-quality box-to-box player can make with Frimpong.

Closely followed by centre-back. If you could bring in one of your hulking Scandinavian counterparts like an Agger or a Hangeland, that would be ideal.

Defence!

For those saying midfield I look forward to a better midfield than Kightly, Henry, O'hara and Jarvis next season then (we are in the championchip remember!)

I read somewhere that he was the one who discovered Hangeland.

The defence for sure.

We will be able enough for the Chump...it's about what happens when we go up.

I take your point, but two of them may not be with us.

Defence, Defence, Defence!

The goalies, midflied, wingers and forwards will be fine. Just some sweaking there.

Sort the defence out first, then the central midfield, then replace SEB with someone who's not useless, and find another couple of strikers to go with him, then find someone to replace Jarvis.

Easy job :vroam:

Solbakken is a fiery character so any dressing room problems will soon get stamped on!
The whole squad needs a big shake up and its about to get one I think :)

Depends on who moves out. But here goes:
Forwards
SEB will regain form playing down a league, especially if he gets more game time if other forwards move on. I think that as Sam Vokes has gained more experience he may be given a chance. Leigh Griffiths has had a lot of playing time and may come in and again the younger crop may come through. Depending on if anyone is moved out I think we are going to need 1 or 2 more strikers and expect this will be the major expenditure

Midfield

Kites will shine at this level, Hammil will also star, I expect David Davies to develop further and play a big part, I am not sure we will hang on to Karl Henry. Jamie O'Hara will also attract attention. Nenad may be moved on. I would expect us to try and hang on to Adlene. I would love to hang onto Matt Jarvis but.......?
Anthony Forde and the other youngsters may well figure. Perhaps 1 or 2 central midfielders needed.

Defence
Richard Stearman and Christoph Berra should be more than good enough at this level, Danny Batth will come through as will Matt Doherty, we have George as cover for the left central defence as well being a left back. I wouldn't be surprised if there is interest in Ronald Zubar and Kevin Foley on the right and Stephen Ward on the left so I think full backs are going to be a priority if they go, a right sided central defender would be handy too. Stephen Mouyokolo may be fit.
I imagine that Roger Johson will want to move on after a torrid season both on and off the pitch, whether people will be brave enough to pay to take him on I don't know.

Goalkeepers

I wouldn't be surprised to see a keeper brought in on loan until Wayne Hennessy is back,

Be surprised if he doesn't bring in players in all areas, purely due to outgoing sales but I would say the area that needs special attention is defence.

Defence. Some of our attempts at defending this season were simply... err.. undefendable.

1) Defending - as a team

2) Comfort with the ball

3) Movement off the ball

4) Keeping the ball

The key for me is movement and when defending doing it as a unit.

Our midfield (without Ohara) lacks forward movement and tends not to have control of the ball (Edwards) we need more craft in the centre of Midfield and we need a better organised defence - which means finding a commanding centre half and a career left back.

It also depends on who is allowed to leave, if we loose Fletcher, Doyle and Jarvis we are going to need some real pace upfront.

The challenge for Stale is finding quality and pace at the right price then moulding that into a style of play.

Of course it depends on who leaves but I'm a big believer in building from the back and as we all know our defense is abysmal so start there.

Need to get rid of:
Berra
Egg
Stearman (out of the 1st team, half decent back up)
Craddock
Doyle (sell, reinvest cash)
Ward (didnt enjoy his comments)
Moyakoulo (sp)
O'Hara

Keep at all Costs:
Kightly
Fletcher
Ebanks Blake (25 goals next year)
Jarvis (unlikely)
Hammil (even more so if we lose Jarvis)
Guedioura
Roger Johnson (the rock our defence can be built around next season!)

Defence has to be the priority - followed by strikers.

Its not so bad conceding goals if you're scoring enough to counteract them - but we have 4 main strikers, and only one of them (the one that is likely to leave in the summer) is scoring goals.

Central midfield needs sorting too - but in the Championship, we have more than enough players that we can juggle around until we find the right midfield that works as a unit.

We don't have the same room for manoeuvre in the other positions.

The key is sorting the defence but this may be possible with players already at the club if we defend as a team. Two wingers who don't track back will make most defenders look poor. When Jarvis didn't start against Sunderland and Everton we kept clean sheets. Coincidence - I don't think so. Wide midfielders who can defend as well as attack please. Shame Hunt looks past it but maybe an injury- free run will help him return to his previous form and solve the problem freeing money for a quality young Scandinavian midfielder.

Pass and move pass and move pass and move instil this into the players. Get the central midfield balance right and have plenty of quality options there. O'Hara nd Guedioura are fine if fit. Henry needs quality competition. Milijas - play him or sell him. Some new dynamite midfielder needed.
Defence needs sorting out. De Vries probably ok but we need back up till Wayne gets back. A new specialist left back to challenge Ward. Foley and Zubes god enough. Batth to be given a chance with either Johnson or Berra or Stearma\n but probably a new Monster defender needed.

In the Champ a target man needed and keep Fletcher and Doyle , perhaps sell SEB. Keep Jarvis and encourage Kites. Hammill to be given a new chance - sell Hunt.

Get in your own coach(es) to work alongside Connor

Be ruthless and sign quality proabably from abroad. Only allow Fletcher and/or Jarvis to go if a mega bid is on offer and you have good replacements in mind.

Be true to your football philosophy and insist on the highest standards. Johnson - 8 pints! Last chance saloon mate -totally unacceptable etc...
