After an international break where Romain 'you honestly can't take him anywhere' Saiss ended up being chased out of an entire country by military revolution - an incident that was still only the second most newsworthy item of the week - we return to the more pleasingly mundane environment of predicting league football. In an ideal world, Raul Jimenez will be cleared to play against Watford and will score the first, second and third goals of the Bruno PL era, Mike Dean will be sent to officiate in Guinea, and Chris H will not predict a Spurs 1-0 win and thus save us all from another excruciating week of Nuno headline trending on Twitter.

Remember your three asterisks, and if you know any Argentina fans, make sure you walk behind them ringing a bell and solemnly chanting Shame, Shame. Good luck all!

37 entrants this week, predicting three Watford wins, four draws, and a mighty thirty Wolves wins, eleven of them double-pointed. We're a hopeful lot, aren't we? No-one has gone for a Villa to get so much as a point against Chelsea, so we all know what will happen now. Well done, you bleedin' jinxes. Spurs 1-0 v Palace is a foregone conclusion, as six other players buy into the Chris H masterplan. Twenty-three players have gone for 1-1 between Bristol City and Preston, because let's face it, outside of the predictions game, who gives a gnat's proverbials? Used to be that some part of us cared, but don't beige Championship games like this seem a long, long way away now?

Just on a personal note, if the footballing gods could see their way to an unlikely Newcastle win against Man Utd today, with a first minute red card for Ronaldo, that would be lovely, thank you. Not that I've predicted a Newcastle win. I HAVE, however, predicted Leeds to beat Liverpool, along with just one other player in Leominster Wolf, so if this comes to pass tomorrow, please forgive us if we strut around like crows. And Ewok vs Wolf can do the same if Leicester beat Man City, and likewise SuziQ if Norwich beat Arsenal. In fact, everyone can strut if Norwich beat Arsenal because that would be hilarious, especially when Arteta's wooden puppet face tries to cry real tears.. Good luck all!

How mortifying. After a rough totting up so far, I think I'm currently dead last this week. I have some bacon that definitely needs saving tomorrow.

A half dozen players are knocking it out of the park, however, in the high 20s as things stand. I *think* (just based on mental arithmetic) Wonder Boyo might be leading by one point over SuziQ and Boon2, but it's still anyone's game. And take a bow Frank Lincoln, who didn't manage a correct score but did get all eight PL results right today! That was something like a 200-1 total accumulator...

Congratulations to joint fourth week winners Blast Tyrant and IrchyWolf in a week where correct scorelines were difficult to come by. They got two apiece, with both predicting that golden 2-0 Wolves win, but it was their sheer consistency in picking up the right results that saw them edge out the competition in a round which saw just five points separating the top dozen players. Wolvessince63 can feel unlucky with three correct scores; in the first week they've managed over 20 points they hit 36, just one short; and SuperGran, Boon2, LeominsterWolf and SuziQ also got three scores on the nail, but ultimately all feel short of the weekly high mark.

Oh, and I came last this week. Stupid bloody game.

Chris H still leads the game overall with 136 but all those below him gained a handful of points to make the top of the board that much tighter. There's some admirable consistency in that top ten, with Contrarian and Giantwolf keeping up with the pace as ever, and a strong week from Wonder Boyo gets him back in the running after last week's blip. Blast Tyrant explodes into the top bracket, while some of us, mentioning no names, tumble out of it.

Last 2 weeks I've tried to over think it and went against my head's judgement which has left me next to bottom both times.
That's it, listen to your head time.
I think I'm the Wolves team the year we were top after 3 games and end up in bottom 3 at the end of the season.

Bloody Nuno!

My one and only tactic of predicting Spurs to win 1-0 has finally let me down.

Now I need a plan b, ironically something we never seemed to have (and for the most part never needed) under the great man himself!
