Welcome to Week Three, and predictions at a glance. 39 competitors this round so far, with 16 going for a Wolves win and 9 for the draw, showing how much general confidence has been bouyed by the Nottingham Forest result. There are some tight games that could go either way this week, most notably Liverpool v Chelsea, so there's a real chance for a massive leaderboard shake-up. Pace-setters Chris H and Wonder Boyo will be eyeing each other suspiciously like Neil Warnock and his own reflection, and a cluster of players are poised to pounce like a pack of meerkats hyped up on popping candy. Welcome to first-timer Boon2, and good luck to all!

Sorry guys, I'd seen the script... We're scheduled a 1-1 with Brentford, though we may have agreed to let Watford win.

A tough week with some real coupon-busters, most notably in the non-Premier games, but there was no monkeying around from the bombastic Baboon, putting the prime in primate with a hearty haul of 37 points to take the Week Three title. The hairy one scratched out three correct scorelines and used their asterisks well, pipping the possibly equally hairy WetheralWolf by a point; with four correct scores (two doubled), Wetheral was a bit unfortunate, but was by no means the only one of us done over by another Wolves blank. John deWolf's Hairdryer (what is it with the hair fetish in week three?) also hit four correct scorelines, one doubled, but finished two points adrift after nailing most of Saturday's top flight games (I sympathise; all of my points came on Saturday), Lonewolf, Celebrity Wolf and Jrpb3 rounded out the rest of the top six this week with 30+ points to help them up the leaderboard, while Frank 'Tardy' Lincoln hit three correct scores and 28 points but missed the Man City game through tardy tardiness, which'll teach him (I'm guessing he would have picked a City win like everyone else). SuziQ... Suzi, Suzi... you are needing some of that late, late show magic you showed in the Euros. I have faith!

Chris H maintains his overall lead, thanks to Nuno's Spurs - yet another ten-point 1-0 prediction rescued his blushes after a difficult week. Chris, any time you'd like to start predicting Spurs to lose, that would just be darling, okay? Contrarian's Saturday was the equivalent of spending three hours getting dolled up and going out on the pull only to spend the night sleeping in the doorway of NatWest after not being allowed in the nightclub, but his Sunday was the equivalent of being woken up in the morning by Brie Larson offering to buy him a fry-up. The exact opposite of last week's consistency. So bloody contrary, that one. Baboon lumbers into third place alongside the unstoppable force that is Giantwolf, who just quietly racks up the points in lethal fashion but who might see this week's unlucky asterisk placement (two blanks) as a chance missed to hit the top.

Hall Of Fame So Far:

Week One: Chris H (46)
Week Two: Wonder Boyo (52)
Week Three: Baboon (37)

No game next week because of yucky internationals, so look out for the next fixtures in about ten days' time!

Oi young Wolf In The North, less of the "lumbers" if you don't mind! A baboon gracefully glides I'll have you know.

Anyway, I'd like to dedicate my place in the Hall of Fame to all the other over 70s on The Mix. It's good to know us veterans can still give you young whippersnappers a run for your money every now and then.

I'm off now to celebrate my success with a nice warm mug of ovaltine and a rich tea biscuit.

My apologies, Baboon. An emendation: you have slid silkily into the top three, and are now as comfortable as a monkey can be in smoking jacket and a pair of slippers.

GAME WEEK FOUR - September 11th-12th

Crystal Palace~Tottenham
Arsenal~Norwich
Brentford~Brighton
Leicester~Man City
Man Utd~Newcastle
Southampton~West Ham
Watford~Wolves
Chelsea~Aston Villa
Bristol City~Preston
Coventry~Middlesbrough
Monaco~Marseille
Leeds~Liverpool
Nottingham Forest~Cardiff
Osasuna~Valencia
Cagliari~Genoa

After an international break where Romain 'you honestly can't take him anywhere' Saiss ended up being chased out of an entire country by military revolution - an incident that was still only the second most newsworthy item of the week - we return to the more pleasingly mundane environment of predicting league football. In an ideal world, Raul Jimenez will be cleared to play against Watford and will score the first, second and third goals of the Bruno PL era, Mike Dean will be sent to officiate in Guinea, and Chris H will not predict a Spurs 1-0 win and thus save us all from another excruciating week of Nuno headline trending on Twitter.

Remember your three asterisks, and if you know any Argentina fans, make sure you walk behind them ringing a bell and solemnly chanting Shame, Shame. Good luck all!
