Some of you might not agree, but with all the commotion of COVID, and then the failed attempt of the big wigs to form the new money league. I genuinely believe we need a celebratory song. Not one to slate the opposition per say, but one to welcome everyone back and shout loud about who the bloody hell we are. I know it might sound stupid, but without fans in attendance football is ****e. If anyone's got any ideas, shout up.
Just to join in.. I can only think of this.

Real Football Coming home

It's coming home
It's coming home
It's coming
Real Football coming home
It's coming home

Three Wolves on a shirt
Molineux still gleaming
Forty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

So many jokes, so many sneers
But all those oh-so-nears
Wear you down
Through the years

But I still see that tackle by Mike
And when King John scored
Kenny belting the ball
And Dougan Dancing

Three Wolves on a shirt
Nuno's smile is beaming
Forty years of hurt
Never stopped free dreaming

Repeat..

Not judging your lyricism, but adapting a song written by an Albion fan is a dubious starting point.

If only there was a Portuguese equivalent to Fields of Athenry
Look up Grandola Villa Morena, the song of the overthrow of the Dictator Caetano in 1974. Every portugeezer knows it. Great tune!

If we do go with a song, it can't have anything to do with Nuno, chinese owners, any players.... it has to stay with the club when they all move on.

Those were the days, if we sang the opening 4 lines better, and slower it would be a belter.
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or 2 (or 3 or 4!)
Where we used to while away the hours
Thinking of the things we used to do......
THOSE WERE THE DAYS......

Spot on. We don’t need a new song, we need to improve what we do already. The beautiful and iconic version of Sunshine on Leith was aided by the tune being played over the tannoy.

TWTD should be played pre or post match. Not Tears for bloody Fears. I have no idea why that tune was chosen other than I reckon Dalrymple must’ve been a fan of it.

Agree with that!! Get it on the tannoy. We'd belt it out after a few beers, half of the problem is our fans don't know the words to the opening of Those were the days, except about 50 in South Bank & Upper SB, and not knowing when to start singing.

Quite like that TFF song but it's got nought to do with us, even though it's a good song.

I don’t think some of our supporters realise that TWTD and Born Under a Wanderers’ Scarf are based on real songs.

"Shi loves you, yeah yeah yeah, in a..."

...and here a quick 5 minute copy cut paste of Wanderin' Star...

"I was born under a wanderers' star
I was born not watchin VAR
Goals are made for scorin'
Wolves are made to pack
I've never seen an offside that VAR didnt cack up

I was born under a wanderers' star
Stockley Park can make you prisoner, Covid can bake you dry
Red lines can burn your eyes, but only UEFA make you cry
Molineux is made for comin' from, of Nuno dreams of goin' to
Which with any luck will soon come true
I was born without VAR
I was born under a wanderers' star

Do I know where hell is?
Hell is ESL
Heaven is the Premier, it's time for us to go
I was born under a wanderers' star
A wanderers' wanderers' star

When I get to Molinuex tie me to a seat
Or I'll begin to roam, and soon you know where I will be
I was born under a wanderers' star
A wanderers' wanderers' star"
absolutely Brilliant Nomad, think that can be on the B side to Sunshine on Wolves.;)

As others have already said. We already have great song “nuno had a dream”

It needs updating removing that "5 at the back" nonesense.
Strength in the pack would be a good alternative and it fits.

Also, lets hope the wonder kid from Porto is still be relevant come August, otherwise that may need tweaking.

So true. Those were the Days, by Mary Hopkin is a great song to play before the games and I've wondered why it's never been played over the years.

It fits the non-offence criteria they seem so keen to uphold too.

Love the liquidator but TWTD is a good song to turn up before kick off.
People might hate Blues but the clapping to Mr Blue sky when the teams run out and then their club song Keep Right On are uplifting & original....especially for such a nothing club in Small Heath!

What is the last original song we have made? We just steal from other teams and replace with our players

TWTDMF is our anthem and I'm sure if you asked supporters from other clubs the question that would be their answer.
When sung en masse and with passion it always makes the hairs go up on the back of my neck..

Can’t beat a bit of The Clash on a Saturday afternoon!
Could have a few multiple meanings, I’ll let you decide?!

Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go, there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go now?

I don't follow international football, so Three Lions doesn't have great resonance for me. However, I think turning it into an anthem for the modern Wolves would be a GREAT way to poke Albion fans in the eye.

That's the case for most clubs unfortunately always the same stupid tunes / songs with a few words being changed from a club to another.

Only a handful of clubs have come up with great tunes recently:

United with the rendition of Waterfall

Liverpool with Allez Allez Allez / Si Senior as their fans have a great supporter culture and have always looked at what is being done abroad

The ultra portion of Rangers' fan base have also invented some great songs these past season

Other than that it's just plain poor and we make no exception, this thread being a prime example

Would have thought it is possible to get an anthem going with the Wolfpack howlers involved in making it happen

I can't wait to hear Si Senor with a rampant Raul leading our attack. That's original enough for me.

How about Agadoo? If that can't unite the masses in one long post Covid orgasmic chorus, then I’m not sure what can?

There was a Neves song that got going near us in the south bank in the Championship season. Possibly based on a Fatboy Slim song or similar 90s dance track. It was good but I can’t remember it for the life of me now.

What we need is a new song that’s totally associated with us ONLY. So it has to be something a tad obscure and easily verbally manipulated to attach itself to us
I’m going for something by Captain Beefheart or Barclay James Harvest

A quick copy cut edit paste of "My oh My" lyrics...

"I believe in Wanderers, my oh my
I believe in the Wolves, my oh my
Dont we need some Portuguese?
We can catch one with some ease
I believe in Wanderers, my oh my

We all need someone to score goals, Si Senor
We all need someone to stop goals, Rui Rui
You need a Shi Nuno to lean on
Call them, they'll be standing by

We all need someone to pass to, my oh my
We all need Molineux, my oh my

Yeah, a bostin Molineux, my oh my

We can lend a helping hand
If you ain't got nothing planned

We all need a wolf pack, my oh my
Oh, yeah

Oh
Yeah

So let's all Wolves together, my oh my
We can all howl together, my oh my

You've got troubles of your own
No need to face them all alone
We can wolf pack together, my oh my

So get all Wolves together, my oh my
Yeah, lets all pull together, my oh my
We can ride the stormy weather
If we all get out and try
So let's all Wolves together, my oh my
Yeah, let's all Wolves together, my oh my"
