100% guarantee that if you speak to a Blues fan they’ll be talking about aggro within 10 minutes of any conversation discussing football! To a man they all know one eyed Baz, although of course they’re not personal into violence, no, no, but....

I do laugh though, they are quite like us in that they have that curse of when you start chatting to someone and they ask who you support, nine times out of ten it’s followed up with “oh I remember getting chased/punched/stuff thrown at me when I went to Wolves” which ends up in a moment of pure awkwardness :grimacing:

Surprised at the reaction on here, and the idea that Blues have been done over in recent years by a lack of ambition/backing from the owners, which is not the case.

It's similar to Sheffield Wednesday, there's a myth that there owner is a disgrace, when he's been done by the system. They're paying for bad decisions, but they, like Blues, decided to spend money they shouldn't have.

And, despite all this, Blues still haven't fallen as far as we did (League One), so they've done well to create this idea that they deserve sympathy.

I must be in the minority, but I'll find it really funny if they do go down, just like I'll find it funny if/when Albion go down. And, like Blues, I would love us to play a part in doing that to them on May 1st, although it might be a sombre mood on here if we do relegate them going by this. After all, Albion have a bad owner as well, poor souls...
I can certainly remember them in League One or whatever it was called in those days. Circa early/mid 90's, can't be bothered to look it up.

Seem to remember them being in a last day relegation battle with Albion. 93/94 maybe. They lost, Albion stayed up, helped by the standard six points we gave them that year

Yeah, I meant in the past decade.

People feeling sorry for them when they've had an owner who has put money in/attracted big-name managers for that level, and not even dropped into League One.

I can its Blues **** em.....its hilarious

And me

I would not **** on them if they were on fire.

I took a huge amount of merciless carp from a Blues fan in the summer of 1986 when we didn't think we would have a club.

I was a young lad and he was a supervisor at work and he made my life hell for months

So, sorry I have an immense dislike for them - far more than Albion for me.

Puts me in a funny place this one , as a 12,,13,,14 year old it was my second most visited ground St. Andrews , my mom divorced my dad and married a brummie , he took on us 3kids and treated us wonderfully and still does today , he would take to me to mol on a Saturday and St. Andrews when wolves were away , he was a season ticket holder for 17 years , I watched kenny burns , Bob latchford , Trevor Francis and the argentine full back Alberto tarrantini, as a kid who loved football I suddenly found a great step father with the same views , so forgive me for not hating them

I quite like Blues too. I was working in Brum 71-2, and went to St Andrews quite a few times. They had a good team and got promoted with Norwich IIRC. Always disliked Villa though. A bit poncey, with too many fans from Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and Stratford.

Adams and Bellingham money been swallowed up also. Their owners are rotten half their ground is almost unusable for foreseeable future. It’s sad to be honest nobody should wish this on any club unfortunately they will drop down the leagues like a stone. They can probably see it coming too. Villa can laugh but it’s not good to laugh if they say their main rivals and never play them again.

My Mrs queued for 13 hours in the rain for tickets for that game. She’ll never forget that day at Wembley.

I know plenty of Noses, have been a “guest” of theirs in The Garrison and their Exec Boxes when we’ve played them. Have drunk in the Adam and Eve and took my lads in some of the pubs in Digbeth to meet up after we’ve beat them.

All of them sound as a pound, the non-glory hunters and locals in their City, unlike Viiiiila. I have more respect for them as fans than their cross city rivals.

I once had a meeting with Brady to discuss building a new stadium up the road, they were going to fill 50k. They’ll never really achieve that, big catchment area but they will always lose out to glory hunters.

Sad to see this happening to them.

I don’t like them, but I did happen to be working in Brum for both the last minute great escape at their expense, and the championship title race.
Fun bants. Particularly as there was one guy I happened to detest on every level (being a bluenose was probably his least dislikable feature) that had to hand me a score when Mick romped us home.

My two pence........... I can't stand blues, dislike them far more than Albion. My personal experience of visiting St. Andrews is not good, I don't know what's worse, getting bricks chucked at us or carrier bags filled with ****. Hope we never play the ****s again. Scummy club with scummy fans.

What is blues catchment area other than Birmingham? You really don't see many Stafford Cannock rugeley Telford way, yet you still get villa and Albion.

Worst clubs out there like Norwich and Reading. Sold a few decent players in recent years. Sullivan/Gold wanted a casino/stadium and may have stuck with them if they had granted the wish. Both the Blues and Villa groudns are in absolute ****holes. Amazed they never ground shared somehwere nice.

Few around Redditch/Bromsgrove/Tamworth. Still probably more predominantly Villa though.

Nerd alert, but the Villa/Blues spread kind of ties in to post war development policies. During the 1930’s, Birmingham council did most of their slum clearances and estate building in the south of the city, they’d planned to do the north in the 1940’s, which got interrupted for obvious reasons. When the war was over, the policy had switched more to building new towns, so a lot of the population in North Birmingham ended up being moved out to the likes of Tamworth, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Leamington, even Northampton, etc. instead of the pre war policy of new estates being built in Birmingham, so you ended up with Blues support base largely still in the city, but Villa flung out more regionally.

Thought their ground was decent and had a good atmosphere. The worst trouble ive seen for years was after the game when Jacket was in charge and they beat us 2-1.
Reading the article it seems to stem from Carson Yeung ownership and he shouldnt of been allowed to own the football club.Than just stupid managerial moves and wasteful transfer policy.
The era of Rednapp over-spending is pertinent how many clubs did this happen to under his charge? Pompey/QPR but still loved by the media.

Never forget Anfield.

Went there in the 70’s with a Liverpool supporting mate. Parked near the stadium in a right dump of an area and was immediately surrounded by kids asking for money to look after the car. Gave them a few quid to avoid having the tyres slashed.

Walked into the souvenir shop and I felt a tug in my jacket. There was young kid who looked like he’d never had a wash, had no laces in his shoes asking me ‘have you got a penny mister’! Never forgot it.

Had the worst ever beefburger in my life before the match and threw it away.

What an experience that was. Anfield is in a right dump of an area. Probably no better now than it was in the 70’s.

Give me good old Molineux any day!

Not sure how true this is? Loads of estates around Erdington, Perry Barr area, by Jaguar works? Brums got estates all round it but less on the Solihull side. Stuck loads ~60000 people out in Chelmsley Wood which is a big council town which is supposedly Blues but probably more 50/50.
Think they got a big black support who worked as bouncers in the centre, and the ground being in a location which is hard to police, as well as the team almost always being a bit crap has led to a bigger hooligan problem, more hangers ons thinking they're hard more likely to follow them because pf the reputation.

I was delivering in Lancaster yesterday, the bloke who tipped me is a blues season ticket holder. He’s been going home and away since the 70’s.
He said that getting rid of Rowett was the nail in their coffin, and also thinks if they go down , it’ll be decades before they’re promoted.

One of the few grounds where you really have to keep your wits about you as an away Wolves fan. Looking back I cant believe that I used to travel to away games there on my todd aged about 11 or 12 onwards. Albion too but that was a walk in the park by comparison. Anybody remember Winners Matches discounts about 40p in? Mind you I was about 20 then.

Hate Albion and Blues but love the derbies. Oh yes. Blues really are a strange club. Birmingham's a big city but have such **** football teams. :tearsofjoy: Wolverhampton on the other hand is just such an amazing place with the old gold shining nice and bright, and getting brighter. Not surprised no half decent buyer wants a punt on Blues. They've not really got any footballing tradition to speak of and there's THE gipsy curse to deal with too - nasty. Right good chance of them going down this season, fingers crossed. Be good for them to taste life in L1. Wonder what bluenoses make of the porn boys coming through at West Ham now. West Ham in the champo league next season and bluenoses in L1. It's a funny old game.

It is a nasty away day for sure. Never forget the half-enders raining down on us and they'd won!
