It's threads like this that really help me understand that some people do actually like Mrs Browns Boys, they like Boris Johnson and think Brexit was a good idea
Oh behave. I think Mrs Brown's Boys is dire, detest Mr Johnson: his populism, nepotism and lies, and as a long-standing (old-, socialist but definitely not Corbynite) Labour member, welcomed the opportunity to leave the wretched, undemocratic EU which we never joined democratically in the first place.

What about this thread educated you about us plebs??

Would argue its the opposite as the people who like mrs browns boys and boris just lap up whatever is put infront of them and dont question anything. Albeit this thread is a bit ridiculous in any case as the sale was always looking likely

No offence how many times have you been to molineux? Were your parents grand parents great grand parents wolves fans ??
Ok…..have you ever talked in-depth wih Jeff, Guo, the accountants at Wolves, the scouts, the lawyers who drew up Traore’s contract, Levy, Bruno, or even Adama himself, etc.

Geography or proximity has no bearing on having an opinion……you probably have one on Trump, Boris, Tom Cruise, Bolsonaro, Adele and many others without ever meeting them for a long period of time.

A lot of us were not Adama fans, but I was and still am.

People went on about how flakey he was, and went on about the ‘end product’ too, but I was ALWAYS proud that he was a Wolves player.

Here in Ireland supporters of other clubs always mentioned him before any other Wolves player, and I was proud of that too.

As a football fan you want to watch the player who bucks the sideways and backwards trend and here was a player in the Old Gold who just went for it…… got us up the pitch with the sheer skill and energy of his movement!!

I’ve supported the Wolves since 1965, and in that time, I can only remember 1 other player who had that electric effect on the support and that was my beloved Waggy!

As long as Adama was here, Waggy was still about, getting hold of the ball and then the atmosphere lifted immediately!

Yes he didn’t sign again, so be it, he’s getting a deal from Levy which is better than Jeff’s, good luck to him! But, how many players have we now that put that electric current into the stadium as soon as they get the ball???

We might end up as a better team overall as a result of his departure, but, for all those games in the old gold, when he brought Molineux to its feet, I want to thank him. Sincerely.

He’s a nice genuine guy and I wish him well for the rest of his career, with or without us.
Great post Waggy

Sorry Joe, I like a lot of what you say, but this is unfair IMO.

I'd be sad to see Adama go but hey...........he doesn't want to be here.

But I agree that we must reinvest. Lets give them that chance before judgement
I am surprised Reans that you sanction this. I am very sure you know that selling to a rival
is not done for very good reason. I am also very sure that your realise that Wolves' team
spirit will count for a lot in the coming run-in.

Shi is tampering with both these elements because he wont borrow some money for a few months!!!

It is close to throwing in the towel as I can imagine.

Jimenez, Podence, Trincao, with Silva starting to show development and both Hwang and Neto to come back in...I honestly don't think Traore would get in my own personal starting eleven and may not be among my immediate choices from the bench. The team are evolving. This brings in money, and does it without selling a player who -imo- doesn't make our best eleven. I see no need to panic.

Answer the question Vancouver?
You first.
However, do you not think me and a few friends never took the boat from Dun Laoghaire to Hollyhead to take in some games from time to time?

However, I won’t give you a straight answer as your question is an insult to yourself.

Only because I don't feel we have much choice as a club as he has rejected our contract.
I'm not happy with our recent transfer windows, but this one player sale is understandable, albeit very sadly because I really like Adama.
I won't be happy Joe if we sell then don't reinvest. But we need to see what happens.

IF he goes, the money will be used for Hwang or Trancao and Chiquinho. Doubt any more new money is available

Seriously Hogan, I asked you this before and didn't get a response.
In the summer, you said:
- the executive team have been '**** poor'.
- Shi had lied to us (mentioned on multiple occasions)
- We'd had '5 meh/bad windows' (this presumably a six
- You were 'genuinely struggling to sleep' because you were so angry
- They 'deserve all the criticism they get'

Sorry to pick you out on this as do think you're a good, and balanced, poster. You gave them until the end of the window, which was fair, and then you clearly weren't happy as I've picked out above and there could have been more!

Of course, you might have just changed your mind, fine. But, why? Are your feelings on the way Wolves are run really defined by half a season worth of positive results? Again, sorry for going through old posts as a bit of a ****ty thing to do, it's nothing personal against you, just remember you were very vocal about them after the window and now you're completely the opposite and I don't get it.

Do you prefer to just save Hogans old posts or print and laminate them? I prefer print and laminate - then I can highlight relevant sections for easy reference years later. In alphabetised ring binders obviously.

The fact that we should somehow be able to get a better deal for Adama even though the reality is fundamentally different.

The situation from today strikes me as very similar to the one at the start of last season. Cashed in on
Jota, and never really replaced him, condemning the club to an undermanned and somewhat demoralised
squad, which got found out pretty quickly.

This is worse in my view, because of the abymsal timing, right on the cusp of a big game tomorrow, (it appears
Shi couldnt even wait the weekend out), and on the edge of Wolves' best chance of a top 4 finish in fifty years.
Yes 50 years.

Its close to impossible to understand how such a move could be sanctioned. The players wanted Adama to stay, as
did the coach, knowing his importance to the team.

Not only has Shi acted irrationally in terms of the club's interests, he has also acted directly against the express wishes
of the manager and players.

Not how you build a happy organisation.

The alternative was to retain the player, and move him on in the summer when the trainer had time to develop
a replacement, and everyone's happy.

Shockingly stupid.
**** me some fans are ridiculous.

Yes we sell good players. Yes we’ve generally sold them for more than what we paid originally.

Yes we’re in 8th this season after having a new manager and probably playing best football we’ve played in 24 months.

Yes we have the second best defence in the premier league.

Have we replaced said players sold with better ones? Oh wait yeah we have… **** me you melts.

Stop being so ****ing ridiculous. Clearly the above poster is saying we are doomed and are on a clear path to league one but take a step back from us potentially losing a player and look at the bigger picture of where our squad is at.

A lot of small time thinking on this thread, as if it is a little bit scary to actually imagine Wolves
breaking into the top 4.

POI: Wolves are six points off fourth with two games in hand....

This is their moment, right now. And having Adama on the bench strengthens us considerably. Adama
has a fantastic impact in the final sections of games, when games are often decided.

This is ABC of having a successful season. You do whatever it takes to maximise your forces and make success
possible. Not sell one of your main assets, who trainer and senior players want to stay.

There is no good, logical reason for selling Adama now. At the end of the season, start an auction. Or, consider this,
the team does qualify for Europe, Adama plays an important role, and either his value increases, or he agrees to
sign a new deal as we will be competing in Europe.

If one believes that there is a serious chance of qualifying for Europe, of making fourth place, of a good cup run, then
it is the proverbial no-brainer. Why weaken the team/squad for a relatively small transfer fee, which we would get
similarly in the summer.

For God's sake where in the best division in the world where 8th we have a special manager we have very good players. Adama is a one hit wonder he what's to go he what's a bigger contract for what a few cameos now and then sell him for 23 mil and let's get on with getting into top 6 and getting to the cup final one man don't make a team especially a player that's not a regular starter good bye Adama thanks for the magic moments but there wasn't anough of them .

They're not operating as a football club in the normal sense. They are a player trading outlet.
And if true we've done terribly out of this haven't we! Give your head a wobble

Trincao? Not so sure; as in, he's lightweight and imo won't make it in the PL. Hwang, I hope you're right and he's a tenacious lad who I like but I'm still on the fence regarding his ability. You're right though, we have enough in attacking positions... let's hope the club recognise the need to get a top 6-10 place class dynamic central midfielder in, which will probably mean spending all of the Traore cash plus some tele money if we want to make certain we get the right player in. A fit Kalvin Phillips please ;)

Please let's not see some 16 year old Mendes' tricky winger in our PL showcase! We're above that now.

Here's another fact. This season Traore has 1 goal and 0 assists.

Trincao in the league on 0 for both.

Adama despite missing 4 or 5 easy chances which in the main were created by himself also setup numerous chances we didn't finish.

Even Moutinhos goal wouldn't have happened without him being on the pitch.

Huge mistake selling him just like Jota.

Why don’t you stop flapping, see what actually happens and reserve judgment until the end of the window.
Because this is Jeff Shi. Knowing nothing about football, (and having no advisors who know anything about football either) it is inconceivable that he will allow us to strengthen the squad - he will do something utterly random in the hope his stupid 100-1 gamble comes off. You know it and I know it.

Jota's in a different stratosphere to Adama.

The Moutinho goal happened because a poor cross was defended poorly.

The conversation has never been if Adama is better than Trincao. The repeated insistence by some that Trincao is no better or even worse than Adama is just a deflection.
