The date is difficult. According to the records I’ve looked at, it could be any of six that were played between 48 and 55 in the wintertime. November to February. My memory says we always had snow during those months.
The Cup one must be 53/54 FD Winners? Shorthouse left 56/57.
Fantastic photos Chignall, such emotions.

Well I thought that was Jimmy Greaves and I think he was born 1940 so it must be later if I am right

Wasn't this the game that someone on this forum wrote about a few years ago, when he was chased across the pitch during halftime by some Chelsea headcase?
Kissinger also made a postmatch comment that The Middle East issues where nothing compared to the rivalry between English football hooligans.

I did not know Frank Munro sometimes used the alias of Eddie Fuller !

Cracking picture ( as is everything you post on this magnificent thread and many thanks for all you put on here ) which shows that by the time of early February just how cut up the pitch was.

Also I notice Stoke are not wearing any club badge on their tops. I am an avid watcher of The Big Match Revisited and it is seems the wearing of the club crest on shirts did not come in for a good percentage of clubs until about 1975 onwards.

I have done a bit of research and Eddie Fuller was a South African fast bowler who played 7 Tests between 1953 and 1957.

There is another Eddie Fuller who was on the Buffalo Bills roster for three seasons in the early 90s.

The final Eddie Fuller does have a massive link to the name Wolves. Apparently Eddie was an outstanding sports photographer who spent many seasons capturing the action involving Warrington Wolves rugby league team !!!

Thank you Norman, now my brain has slowly ticked into gear and I realise the connection.
