Can't wait for someone to moan about it not being a first team striker.

Anyone know if the young lad who was on trial from AFC Wimbledon has been offered a deal?

Played for Denmark through the youth levels so will be interesting to see how he gets on here.

Just thinking aloud. Why have his club allowed him to go on a free transfer if he has potential at that age? Does Denmark not have the same compensation for players under a certain age? I am all for a good bargain but just wondering.

There's no compensation when a player moves on a free to a club not in the same country. If Solanke had moved from Chelsea to Dortmund this summer as was mooted by some, Chelsea wouldn't have received a penny - as he moved to Liverpool they'll get a tribunal fee.

Thanks. I wondered if that might be the case.

I don't think it is a free transfer. He received a contract in 2015 up to summer 2017 and that has expired. It's not clear who decided that he wouldn't be signing a new contract (unless there was a later contract not mentioned on wikipedia). They seem to have rated him at 16 though.

Quoted from the next link:

AGF has extended the contract with the 16-year-old back Oskar Buur until 2017, and he is simultaneously moved up to the first team squad.

The only 16-year-old Oskar Buur has been stuck with the first team at this start, and now he is rewarded for his effort as he has been awarded a new contract and is permanently raised in the first team squad.

"In particular, in January and February, he has shown that, despite his young age, he can compete with the players in the first team. Therefore, we have extended his agreement to summer 2017, and he will train so much with the A-squad as his schooling allows.

"It is not age but quality is crucial and it is very positive that we have so young a player who can perform in the first team. Oskar burns to play football and he is very mature in his game. He still has a lot to learn, but in recent months he has shown that he is in every way well equipped for the bigger challenges, says sports director Jens Andersson in a press release.

Oskar Buur makes the right back.
