Just putting it out there but could Dyche do a job?
Predictable knee-jerk negative reaction to that suggestion from some. Dyche did a brilliant job at Burnley considering the poor quality of the resources at his disposal. He would be in dreamland at Molineux and might be a good choice to put a bit of steel into our talented band of lightweights. What I don't want is another super defensive Portuguese client of Mendes who will bore the pants off everybody.

Ffs. No more defensive minded Portuguese coaches please.
Have you read this right? It's Moutinho, not Mourinho. Moutinho has never managed, so we've got no idea if he'd be offensive or defensive.

Not wanting to turn this into a discussion about Albion but can they A. Afford to sack him B. Afford to to bring anyone else in?
A - Can they afford not to?
B - There's some bloke on Radio WM who rings in every week claiming he could do a better job. Reckon he'd be cheap enough.

Most of our players want to go to the World Cup. And Fosun knows their player values will be higher if they do.
They should get a man in that can hit the ground running .
For everybody's sake.

Yesterday was the exception……you make it sound like Bruno plays Neves there every game.

Cool story.

Yesterday was the first time all season he had to make a decision on who would partner Kilman. Did he pick any of the centre half’s on the bench? No. He put a midfielder there.

Sorry if this soccer malarkey is a bit complicated for you.

You just know that our new manager will want to play three at the back and we’ll be scratching around in January for that centre back who can sit between Collins and Kilman and launch our attacks by pinging long diagonal balls to our pacy wingers.

Shame really, last season showed signs of something working. This season has been absolutely dreadful.

Hear there's a guy at Éverton who fits the bill perfectly, apparently his parent club had a brain fart and loaned him out to a competitor.

I've seen his set pieces, I know which one is most likely.

Nice fella but zero evidence of him being a good coach, can’t think of one player he made better during his time here. Compare that to his predecessor.

Will be interesting to see who we go for next. Would be nice for it to be a proven manager but ones that are available/would come to Wolves will be tricky to identify.

We’ll lose Saturday regardless so no rush at this point, but this should’ve been done in March - then if not definitely the summer - then if not definitely definitely prior to the international break we just had. So they should have people in mind.

I’m very happy he’s gone. But to be fair, I think he gave Kilman a bigger role, and he has developed. I also think Collins developed in his short time here. Not sure I’d give him much credit beyond that.

I strongly suspect that a new coach will be selected partly on preferring to play four at the back.

he thought Neves could do a better job than anybody on the bench, especially when he had Mouthino and Nunes in midfield.

Is this the earliest into a season we’ve given the manager the boot? How many games into the season did Zenga get?

Disagree I think this is why we are in a mess . We have so many tippy tappy players like moutinhno. So for me it would be an awful appointment for more than a week until we get a new manager in .
Agree mate. I've seen enough of this tippy tippy *******s to last a lifetime.

I’d like to know exactly who was responsible for
(a) letting Coady, Boly and Dendoncker go without bringing in proper replacements
(b) Spending 2-3 years with a faltering / recovering Raul and the milky bar kid as our only centre forwards.
Agreed, there's some odd things been going on... besides the itsy bitsy good stuff.
To add:
c) Why are there so many injuries compared with the Nuno era? Are they warming up and down properly as a unit before the match, at HT and post match like under Nuno's team. Hoever not warmed up properly - whose responsibility is that - a kid or the fitness and coaching team? Was Mosquera prepared properly in terms of fitness after arriving from Colombia? And, finally, whatever happened with assessing the fitness of Sanches and Kalajdzic?
d) Why no consideration of the need for incoming players to replace the goals lost by Jota and Doherty?
e) Why the naive trusting of the market chain with Dawson.
f) Why so many young goalkeepers most of whom are on loan? Is that a special and long term potential money maker because Roberts has supposedly prepared them so well?
g) Why did we spend loads of money on first team 'regulars' with no back-up players required but squad members being deemed good enough to do any more than get splinters o the bench? Ronan, Mosquera, Gomes etc. Many clubs are replacing 5 players at and just after the hour. We replace injured players.
h) Why a specialist goalkeeping coach but no set piece or goalscoring coach?
Surely, Scott Sellars is aware of all this with his background, so where does that point us? Answers on a postcard to Jeff Shi and cced to Scott Sellars.

He thought wrong though, didn’t he.
No……and you can’t back up that claim.
There is no reason to think we would have won or lost yesterday’s game worse if Neves was not playing in the back……none.

Oh no! It will be all our fault when the new manager loses a couple of games. "Be careful what you wish for".
Those fickle Wolves fans! Why weren't they happy with 11 points from the last 51 available!

Sorry not followed this spat, but would like to dip in on what might be a tangent and say I think the club will have hated the fact Bruno didn’t give one of the young centre halves the opportunity to play. The club is specifically set up to develop the young talents and give them the opportunities when they arise.
Whilst you are correct in us not knowing what the result might have been, we could at least have shown some faith and added some experience to one of our youngsters.

Exactly.

Was he going to play Neves there for the 3 games Collins was out? Why not play Toti there against West Ham who haven’t started well? It made no sense.

For all we know developing the youngsters might have been a condition of the job offer, and how many has he given chances to?

Chem Campbell appears to be the only one that’s getting 10 minutes here and there.

Yeah, makes sense.
But, for whatever reason, Bruno didn’t do it that way. With so much at stake, he probably wanted a more experienced player there.

Anyway……that’s all done with now.

Nonsense. Bruno fell into the sort of insane gambling of a manager on the brink.

Toti is a native centre back, with 71 appearances. He played 360 minutes at Premier League level last season, and didn't let us down. Ruben Neves has never played in that position before. So, if Bruno thinks Neves could do a better job at the back than Toti, then the bullet he got this afternoon is well deserved.

Agreed NW.
Toti looked every bit a star player, when I've seen him. Why oh why he wasn't playing yesterday is beyond belief! To play Neves in the centre of defence, was totally inept.
OK he did well after Collins was correctly dismissed but to persist with him in the next game, when you have a quality defender (Toti) bench warming, is indefensible.
And now BOTH Collins AND Neves are suspended for the Chelsea game!!

If Fosun have been preparing for Bruno's dismissal for some time, you would think that a replacement has already been identified?

Maybe we can expect to see him watching from one of the executive boxes at the Chelsea game?

Just need action PDQ !!!!

Exactly and that’s another of the conundrums that was Lage.

We got rid of 3 experienced PL defenders in Coady, Boly and Saiss any one of whom could have done a job there (even if Boly wasn’t the player he was) on the pretext that faith would be placed in the youngsters on the chance they are needed.

That chance comes he snubs those youngsters (which makes the decision of getting rid of those players even less sense) and he puts Ruben Neves at CB. That is the cherry on the cream of a whole sundae of bizarre decisions Lage has made in 50 PL matches.
