This formation helped on Thursday but it seems to limit our attacking options in numbers. Hope we arent sat too deep as we were earlier in the season with this formation. Neves needs to be further forward on the front foot in this and not sat by the defenders as happened earlier in the season. The attacking options on the bench are ridiculous.

The negatives of the formation are that, and the reliance of Doc to create chances. See how it goes.

That does baffle me though. Why have Neves as the deepest lying of those 3? He is coming into his own now as a proper defensive midfielder, but I’d still rather Donk take the lions share of the donkey work, much like Saiss did in the promotion season.
