41 points, close after the Brentford game before a little wobble then safety all but confirmed after the Villa game with the Everton win confirming it officially.

EDIT: there will probably be a few more draws, from some of the wins and losses so maybe a tad lower or higher than 41 but still, I think we’ll be safe before the final day.

7 draws there. Turn those into 3 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats and we've got 36, which will probably do. Pick up the odd surprise win and we're mid-table! Going to be tough tbh.

My prediction is you don't having us winning a single away game between now and the end of the season and that will turn out to be inaccurate
Fair point. Maybe Fulham and/or Southampton contenders for away wins. Struggle to see the rest but I'll obviously be delighted to be wrong

I think we'll all know a lot more come end of January. Just how good Cunha is and who else Fosun bring in.

Blimey, sad when it's laid out like that, but I can't find fault in this. Without goals we will struggle to get 32 pts.

Can’t pick too much fault with the OP’s predictions. Honestly, I read 32 points and thought you were being ridiculously harsh.

Going through the fixtures we might pull out the odd win against a big boy, but this is going to the wire.

I know Jeff isn’t a football guy, but he should be under no illusion that this is the biggest transfer window since Fosun took over. Get it wrong and his job goes too.

It is extremely difficult to predict results…there will always be surprises….Having said that the OP Has tried to be realistic and highlight the issue ..we have 13 points and on this form relegation is certain….27-29 points in21 games will not be easy.Time is running out.I

Jeff should have been sacked along with his boy Bruno. Hopefully he will be gone at end of the season.

As for predicting results, I would be absolutely amazed if we hit 32 points. There simply aren't enough goals in this team and our defenders always make that one brutal mistake that gifts opposition theirs.

We've done all this before, it's like some sort of masochists convention. We're 19th in the league because so far this season we have been in relegation form. We've got 3 wins, and you could argue all 3 were a bit fortunate. I don't think you could make much of a case for us deserving to win any of the others. So that's where we are, and if we carry on the same we'll go down.
So any prediction based on what we have done sees us relegated.

However, we now have a top class coach, who will bring in some top class players. Hopefully this will save us. I'd say there are at least 7 teams currently who should be worried about relegation, not sure any of them have any less to worry about than us.

First, the bad news, suspect we shall get NIL points in these 9 games :

Arsenal (H)
Villa (A)
Man City (A)
Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)
Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man Utd (A)
Arsenal (H)

I do expect us to pick up 4 draws as follows:

Southampton (A)
Tottenham (H)
Leicester (A)
Brighton (A)

And that we win the following 8 games :

West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Leeds (H)
Nott Forest (A)
Brentford (H)
Palace (H)
Villa (H)
Everton (H)

13 + 28 points = 41 points at the end of the season.

Very doable.

What is the point in this thread when we have no idea who we're going to sign, and how quickly Cunha will settle? You're also assuming every game against a top six side is an automatic loss when even the top two have shown they're vulnerable. Spurs are a mess, Chelsea have a new manager, Liverpool not at their usual standards, Man Utd hardly battered us, and Newcastle will regress.

Haven’t we still got to play Liverpool twice? Think that game got postponed after the Queen died.

It's impossible to predict results in the long term, players will be signed, form can change, injuries can hit, players can come back from injury and make a difference. We've potentially got a run of seven games where if we pick up a bit of form we could get a huge amount of points

We might (unfortunately) end up on the 32pts you predict, but I'd predict you'll do well to have got half the results right! I'm taking it week by week, this last seven days has been alright, we've gained ground on the majority, a couple of results out of the next two league games and things are looking much, much better

Look at it from another perspective; we need 3 teams to be worse than us:

We are currently ahead of Soton, 1 point behind Forest and WHU, 2 points behind Everton and 3 behind B'mouth (all on the same number of games), as well as 3 behind Leeds who have a game in hand and 4 behind Leicester (same no of games).
Matching the performances of the above clubs and picking up an extra couple of points over the rest of the season will see us safe. We have a manager who recognises the issues, a new coaching staff and promises that the playing staff will be strengthened. No problem !

39 points and safe but probably a few more bonus points in there so we will break 40. It really is time to relax a little, Lopetegui will see us right.

Saying that we'll need a certain number of points to survive and trying to predict how we get there is an utter waste of time. All that matters is finishing on more points than three other clubs.

My glass half full says we have enough to survive.
My glass half empty says who are the three clubs that we are better than ?

Think we are better than six or seven, maybe more if we play to our potential. We were rudderless, now we are not.

Firstly we will have to spend that’s a given . Our closest rivals may not spend or be in the position yo spend.
Southampton forest West Ham Everton and Bournemouth together with us are all in poor form and we should beat them all . That’s 15 points already.
We often draw with Leeds and Brighton and i think Leicester is another draw. Paa sad lace aren’t great either and Brentford without Toney May go into free fall. A win and a draw against Villa possible too. We are due something from a sky six so maybe points against Liverpool and spurs.

Still very much in our own hands 7 wins 7 draws

Forest getting the plaudits for positive play from motd2 tonight v Chelsea. So the answer is there. Wolves need to play more on the front foot and excite the pundits .

Pointless predicting. All that matters is we do better than at least 3 other teams.

Southampton- forest(h), Everton (a), Vile (h)

Forest- Southampton(a), Leicester(h), Bournemouth(a)

Wet spam - Leeds(a), us(a), Everton(h)

Everton - Brighton(h), Southampton(h), wet spam(h)

Bournemouth - manure (a), Brentford(a), forest (h)

Leeds - wet spam(h), vile(a), Brentford (h)

Leics - Fulham(h), forest(a), Brighton (h)

Obviously we’ve got vile(a), wet spam(h) and Man City (a).

So we do have the hardest January out of the bottom clubs.

Positives are a fair few of those around us will play each other in jan so a few will guarantee to drop points.

I see January as 4 points out of 9 for us.

Vile - 1 point
Wet spam - 3 points
City - 0 points

I've been hit and miss predicting the result of next match, never mind the next 20. I was listening to some Everton fans the other day and they thought the best result they could get against Man City was a 3-0 defeat. Anything can happen. We're all pretty crap at the bottom end of the table, which is how it should be.
