Well then - looks like we might be better off sticking with the European fixtures every round, don't you reckon? This was surely in the running for one of the highest scoring weeks ever overall, with no less than 75 correct scores across the board, including 14 10-pointers (with three players who got two apiece!) I will happily confess, I'm an incorrigible nerd, and this is the kind of week that makes me glad to run this competition. I was genuinely (and absurdly) excited in totting up the scores as the leadership changed hands, and on at least three occasions I was convinced I'd seen the winning score only for someone to come along and pip it.

However, I'm delighted to say that this week's winner is someone who has come close in times past but now finally collects first ever weekly award, in Beowulf's more well-travelled brethren, Geowolf. Geo hit 40 points (only the 10th time this season that marker has been reached or breached, and the first time since round 9), with 4 correct scores and doubling Dortmund and Brest. Baboon was highly unlucky in second place, given that he hit a season record 5 (five!) correct, but somehow didn't manage to slap an asterisk on any of them to finish on 39 points, a total matched by Lonewolf who got 3 correct, doubling two of them (again, Dortmund and Brest - a double of doubles).

SingYourHeartsOut and Wonder Boyo each got 4 correct but no asterisks to tie on 38 points, with Wolf In Wednesbury the other player to hit 4, one doubled (but somehow didn't even finish in the top ten - it was that kind of week!). Chris H was the other player with two 10-pointers, and Frank Lincoln took points from 11 fixtures (pretty sure that's the best of the week) to reach 38 points.

Special mentions of the week go to Geowolf for Man City's 3-2 win and Melbourne Wolf for Fiorentina and Udinese's 2-2 draw, the only two players to get those respective scorelines correct.

Inter Milan's 5-1 over Monza was the game to be on this round, and 10 players were (11 if you count Leominster Wolf, which we probably shouldn't, as he was the only one unlucky enough to have it as a minus). And there was one 0-0, Everton v Villa, which no-one had as a minus, but which caught out 5 players. iamthenewno2 acknowledges the leagues decision but feels that the last three weeks of results should be included in their score, additionally points gained in other matches played after the weekend where they would have scored points should also be included in their total, as happens with other governing bodies, for example the Bulgarian Tiddlywinks Prediction League.

iamthenewno2 feel these points would create jobs, improve the skyline of the local area and halve inflation, it is unfair that iamthenewno2 should be held to the same standards as other players.

iamthenewno2 acknowledges the leagues decision but feels that the last three weeks of results should be included in their score, additionally points gained in other matches played after the weekend where they would have scored points should also be included in their total, as happens with other governing bodies, for example the Bulgarian Tiddlywinks Prediction League.

iamthenewno2 feel these points would create jobs, improve the skyline of the local area and halve inflation, it is unfair that iamthenewno2 should be held to the same standards as other players.

Well then - looks like we might be better off sticking with the European fixtures every round, don't you reckon? This was surely in the running for one of the highest scoring weeks ever overall, with no less than 75 correct scores across the board, including 14 10-pointers (with three players who got two apiece!) I will happily confess, I'm an incorrigible nerd, and this is the kind of week that makes me glad to run this competition. I was genuinely (and absurdly) excited in totting up the scores as the leadership changed hands, and on at least three occasions I was convinced I'd seen the winning score only for someone to come along and pip it.

However, I'm delighted to say that this week's winner is someone who has come close in times past but now finally collects first ever weekly award, in Beowulf's more well-travelled brethren, Geowolf. Geo hit 40 points (only the 10th time this season that marker has been reached or breached, and the first time since round 9), with 4 correct scores and doubling Dortmund and Brest. Baboon was highly unlucky in second place, given that he hit a season record 5 (five!) correct, but somehow didn't manage to slap an asterisk on any of them to finish on 39 points, a total matched by Lonewolf who got 3 correct, doubling two of them (again, Dortmund and Brest - a double of doubles).

SingYourHeartsOut and Wonder Boyo each got 4 correct but no asterisks to tie on 38 points, with Wolf In Wednesbury the other player to hit 4, one doubled (but somehow didn't even finish in the top ten - it was that kind of week!). Chris H was the other player with two 10-pointers, and Frank Lincoln took points from 11 fixtures (pretty sure that's the best of the week) to reach 38 points.

Special mentions of the week go to Geowolf for Man City's 3-2 win and Melbourne Wolf for Fiorentina and Udinese's 2-2 draw, the only two players to get those respective scorelines correct.

Inter Milan's 5-1 over Monza was the game to be on this round, and 10 players were (11 if you count Leominster Wolf, which we probably shouldn't, as he was the only one unlucky enough to have it as a minus). And there was one 0-0, Everton v Villa, which no-one had as a minus, but which caught out 5 players. Neves Wolf (welcome back!), Baboon and Contrarian were this round's top performers, with 12 points, with Neves taking the week's crown by virtue of taking 14 plus points.
