A great win tonight, really showed our class against FC Pyunik. Very impressed with the debuts and the potential for them is very exciting! Scores for each as follows:-

Ruddy - 7, would be a 6 but a bonus point for the save at the end. Nothing really to do.
Coady - 8, Mr Wolves...A true captain and very important to the way we play.
Kilman - 7.5, solid debut. Raw player, but you can see his potential. Couple of mistakes early on, but grew into the game.
Jesus - 8, solid debut and again grew into the game. Won’t be long until he’s pushing Bennett for that role.
Vinagre - 9, MOM! What a player we have here! Fantastic potential and tonight really showed what he’s about. Impressed with his running back and forth.
Traore - 9, a great game for Traore and silenced the critics. An assist and created a lot of forward moves. Massively improved defensively also and willing to get stuck in.
Moutinho - 7.5, a truly rolls Royce player! Quietish night, but did well.
Saiss - 8, very solid and did his job very well. Great in a tackle and his passing was spot on!
Gibbs-White - 8.5, really starting to show his potential. Does the odd thing wrong, but on a whole is growing slowly in Confidence and it’s showing. Needs the fans to continue backing him regardless and he will come great!
Neto - 8, again what a player to have. You can see why we paid so much for him. Very similar to Jota and I love his never give up attitude. Very quick and has great technique. Took his goal well!
Cutrone - 8.5, great game for the Italian! Shame he didn’t get a goal, but still showed his class! Going to be a big player for us this year.

Subs:-
Dendoncker - 7, solid subs appearance. Very good going forward.
Jota - 8.5, for the goal alone! Great for confidence.
Jimenez, 7.5, what an assist!

The proverbial game of two halves. Much the same as at their place. Cutrone was very good. As was Jesus. I’d give MOTM to Vinagre

Really enjoyed that!!

Vinagre has to be motm ... but fantastic debuts for Cultrone Neto and Jesus and a good game by MGW!

A special mention for Adama Traore..... if I read one more post about ‘no end product’ I will find out where you live ...... so DONT get me started!

For ever the Wolves

Really enjoyed the second half.
Some very good perfomances but the one that stood out for me was Neto because i just didn't know much about him, Very quick over the first few yards looked very good.

Felt like an exhibition match for the last 30. First half understandably disjointed

Saw these described as league 1 standard which I thought was very generous

Should have been a walkover and it was, and entertaining at times too. Matchday thread was terrible but you can't have everything I guess

Very enjoyable that.
Typical Nuno stuff, albeit a little more disjointed than usual with all the new faces thrown together. Keep it tight, control, then turn the screw through the second half.

MGW, Kilman and Traore all had shaky starts, but all improved greatly throughout.
Loved Cutrone’s movement. Always finding spaces and making excellent runs, if rarely picked out.
First touch and work rate reeeaal nice.

And Neto. Well. If that’s a favour to Mendes, then I hope we do him some more. Not even sure we need the reciprocity if this lad is the bad end of the deal.

Sumptuous last goal. Can hardly believe our Wolves putting together a move like that. My trousers are soiled in all kinds of places.

First half we had a few finding their feet but the second was one of my favourite halves of football for a long time, and being put on by our back up players. Quality of opposition taken into account but you have to put away what's in front of you and they're not as bad as expected. Delighted and extremely satisfied with the nights work

Ruddy - 7 - hardly had a touch but then was aware and switched on to make a smart save just before the end and then claim the resulting corner. Looked assured
Kilman - 7 - Shook off a shaky first few minutes to go on and have a really solid game. Distribution got better and better and so was his positioning. Knew the system inside out and you can see Nuno stamped all over him
Coady - 8 - Coady is as Coady does. Started to see some of those raking passes come back out when we went up the gears 2nd half and the pressure was off. Want to see more of that
Vallejo - 8 - That first half tackle looked worse the more I saw it and we saw in his highlight reels he does like to dive in so need to watch that. That aside he looked absolute class, great on the ball and his positioning was spot on. Looking forward to seeing him in the pressure games and will be right on Bennett's tail before long
Vinagre - 9 - MOTM Another Vinagre show. Brilliant going forward and in the tackle. Was everywhere down the left and his link up play with the other two 19 year olds in MGW & Neto was something we can look forward to for the next decade. We're in good hands. Scored too. Class
Traore - 8 - Much better young man. 1st half was more of the same but 2nd he was excellent and that end product was there! Great assist and has found a formula he must stick to when he gets into those positions, drill your crosses Adama! Works much better for him and great to see him continue to progress
Saiss - 8 - Solid and the fulcrum of the team. Hardly put a foot wrong all night
Moutinho - 7 - Was busy and typical Moutinho. Was glad to see him go off early and be rested though and also great to see us be so creative and get all our goals without him too, which was important for tonight
MGW - 8 - Mixed first half but was getting better as the half went on and then in the 2nd we was superb. After getting his long awaiting goal we started to see the MGW of Chelsea and at points last season when he was the 'next Gazza' The quality of the opposition has to be taken into account of course but, the confidence boost this will have given a young man finding his way in the game is immense. Looking forward to see him carrying that forward now and against better teams
Neto - 8 - Delighted with him. Looked busy and full of promise first half then second more of the same but with end product to boot. Got the goal that set us on our way and then assisted MGW. Looked very comfortable as a striker and he could well be the next absolute gem we've been gifted. Just a start, but a great start. Can't wait to see more of this lad this season, well done young man
Cutrone - 8 - Love this guy. Incredible work rate (as does Neto as is clearly a trait Nuno insists upon with recruitment) looks absolute class and deserved a goal today, which won't be far away. Such unselfish work for Neto's goal and worked really hard. Even in the first half we was constantly finding good positions and making clever runs, when we start finding him more in and around the box he will go on and get a shed load. Another great start

Subs
Dendonker - 8 - Scored 4 after he came on!
Jimenez - 7 - Wonderful assist and looked busy
Jota - 8 - One of the best finishes I've seen by any player in a Wolves shirt for many a year. Absolute class. Love this guy

Nuno - 9 - Picked the right team and rested key players and it worked a treat

Hi Waggy! That was fun. Noticed tonight that Traore got his head up a lot more as he steamed to the by-line and as a result his passes were more accurate and lead to the 3rd goal. When are you next coming over?

Plenty of positives, and see tonights B team playing plenty games, even after A team exploits in Europe, eg play A v Torino and B v Burnley...then bring on 3 A team eg Raul, Jota, if needed...but only if A team need the R&R and the Zzzs.

Another professional performance. Liked the look of Neto and Cutrone. Both wing backs were amazing. Nice to see the full backs playing out. Killman and Vallejo looked very comfortable and Some nice passes from coady. Bring on utd.

Good game. Really upped it in the 2nd and should have scored even more goals.

Pleasing that the fringe players showed up well, even allowing for the standard of opposition it was encouraging that we could play the system and work the 'idea' really well.
I thought Coads, Saiss, Vini and Traore were excellent. Cutrone was good too and Neto showed he has something about him for sure.

Jota's goal will have lifted him after his early poor finishing start to the season.

Can't wait for the Manyoo game. :)...

Did what we had to do with a line up I didn't expect, and boy did we do it with a bit of flair

Job done again. Happy for Neto, goal and assist on his debut. Cutrone did well, nice assist for Neto goal. MGW gets his first in a proper game. Then to top it all off - a beauty from Jota! Just minutes before he scored, was saying to my boy that Jota needed to connect with one and so he did! Reminded me of my halcyon days over "The Players"! Roll on next week. It's a big un! Manure the warm-up for a nice little Italian job over in Turin. We've got Diogo Jota and Jiminez (instead of "the self preservation society"). Cheque please!

Hello old friend ....

We were due to travel for the United match until Mr Murdoch intervened and moved it to Monday night ... which I can’t do unfortunately!

Will keep you posted ... ideally a Saturday 3 o’clock ko and the first of those is not till Watford towards the end of September I think!!

Will keep you posted ... hope you’re well!

Poor and lethargic first half. Why don’t we turn up for the first half of games?! It must be part of Nuno’s master plan to contain teams then go for it in the 2nd.

Much better second half, some lovely one touch interplay which they just couldn’t deal with.

Impressed with all the new boys, especially Cutrone. Special mentions for Adama and Vinagre too.

Gareth Marshall on Twitter:

“As a Newcastle fan I can only begrudgingly admire @Wolves. 30k on a Thurs night to see a European record aggregate score of 8:0, completed by their 2 star men, Jiminez and Jota, playing champagne football after being brought on with 20 mins to go when 7 nil up! Lucky Wolves fans!”

A pleasant stroll in the park on a late summer evening. Some really exhilarating one touch pass and move stuff in the 2nd half. Cutrone and Neto are class acts already and I predict a great future. Vallejo and Kilman grew into it after a slightly unsure start. Vinagre brilliant and should be in the 1st team now IMO. Adama has been transformed. Jota's finish-- what can you say? Bring on Utd!!!!!!

Job done. Vallejo could've seen red on another day but otherwise looked fine. Neto looked good and seemed to bring something out of MGW in terms of link-up play and quality that I haven't seen since last season. Cutrone worked hard and linked play well - I didn't think he necessarily lacked pace as some have said. Next week will be a slog. If we can overcome Man Yanited, Torino and Burnley in the space of a week, we're doing well.

My understanding is that the Chelsea game is on Saturday 14 September at 3pm as it’s not been chosen for TV and the Europa League qualifying rounds will have finished well before then and the group games don’t start till Thursday 19 September.

I've got a pun.

If Kenny was still manager, someone could say

"Jackett put 8 0 down as the final score"

Watched the game yesterday with the Mrs and she said, who's that one?
"That's Vinagre"
"Viagra?" she said
"Yeah that's right, he gives you a lob on when he's flying down the wing that's for sure"
