For me, the standout as far as possible appointments go.
* experienced in the league
* managed top class players
* tactically astute
Did a superb job at Sevilla, winning the Europa League three seasons in a row. Went to PSG and won the quadruple. Won the Europa League at Villarreal, and got to the Champions League semi-final beating Juve and Bayern along the way despite this being his team:
Great record in knock-out competitions which are realistically our best way into Europe, and winning things will attract better players.
Many will point to his time at Arsenal, but he got them to a Europa League final and had them on a 22 game unbeaten run. He was 5th in his first season, improving on Wenger's 6th, and was 8th when the left, which is where they finished under Arteta (and again next season, and he's a top coach). That side was a mixture of terrible players like Rob Holding and ********s like Aubameyang and Ozil, so was always up against it there and probably just needed more time there.
