First match up, Qatar v Ecuador, 4pm today UK time.
I really don't care about this sportswashing farce. I do, though, hope that Qatar concede at least 10 every single game. Doubtless enough brown envelopes will circulate to prevent that.....Come on Ecuador.
I wouldn’t count out Qatar folks, with them being Asian Champions and the backing of home support.First match up, Qatar v Ecuador, 4pm today UK time.
We played Brighton the other week. They have 3 Ecuadorians.Normally during the World Cup ,whilst not knowing all of the players there is always a smattering of names you recognise.
I genuinely don’t know of a single player from either side but according to the radio this morning there is apparently an Ecuador player in the PL .
And the bribes that'll have taken place. Can't forget that.I wouldn’t count out Qatar folks, with them being Asian Champions and the backing of home support.
Of course, it would be much the nicer to see Ecuador beat them and beat them well.
Fair enough but I have no idea who they wereWe played Brighton the other week. They have 3 Ecuadorians.
S B E-What's Qatari for VAR?

Ecuador player taking a bath after losing the opening World Cup match 5-0 vs Qatar
You still leave a mince pie and carrot out on Christmas Eve, yes?Be nice if this thread could concentrate on the games themselves and the actual football being played, leaving the surrounding discussion to the other threads.
Joke thiefI know a few Qatar players
Eric Clapton
Jimi Hendrix
Eddie Van Halen
You don't think Santa and Rudolf work up an appetite? You still leave a mince pie and carrot out on Christmas Eve, yes?

One year when I was a bairn, I left a hand-drawn map of our street on the mince pie plate, with an arrow pointing to our house. When my mum asked me why, I said it was because Father Christmas might get lost because he was so tired. My dear old mum still has that scrap of paper stored away some 44 years later. You don't think Santa and Rudolf work up an appetite?
Lol, genuinely have only just seen you’d posted it On the joke threadJoke thief
An interesting read..... Wonder if they will continue the approach after the current farce? It would appear that about half of the Qatar squad come from Al Sadd, the current Qatari champions. Also, all their players play their domestic football in Qatar. I know absolutely nothing about their players, but having so many from one club could be a good thing for team unity. As for Ecuador, they have players from all over the globe, including three from Brighton in the premier league.
Ecuador will start as favourites, but as hosts, Qatar will want to put in a good display to start off the tournament.
Commenting in the run-up. Will be offering no views about games that l won't watch.Care enough to comment incessantly on every World cup related thread though.
Think Ecuador will win this one.
Qatar 1-0, penalty. Just a hunch.First match up, Qatar v Ecuador, 4pm today UK time.
They bus in the migrant workers to fill the stadiums anyways.Wonder how many locals would have paid for tickets or had to be buses in /given free tickets?
May I also add;Be nice if this thread could concentrate on the games themselves and the actual football being played, leaving the surrounding discussion to the other threads.
Many are already in the ground. They bus in the migrant workers to fill the stadiums anyways.
Dark, very dark. Many are already in the ground.
True, but I can't stop thinking about it. Not going to watch the game. Off to the park to hopefully find some kids match and remind myself what this game should be about.Dark, very dark.
This is the “Todays games - the World Cup edition” thread though, so I think the point being made was if you have no interest in the games being played why post on or even view this thread?Commenting in the run-up. Will be offering no views about games that l won't watch.
