Most of the time the other half doesn't mind me catching up on here as I'm not allowed my phone on while I work so home computer is best time to Mix it up ;)

Might have to pay more interest to her soon though. Think she said the new baby is due around November time...... Maybe December, I forget!

A number of us spend a fair bit of time on MM. Occasionally the present holder of the title Mrs TYSJ (a post coveted by many) will say "you're reading about the Wolves again, what's so important that you need to read about them at 11 p.m. (insert other times as you choose)". My weak retort of "they're just about to sign a player" is met with "and you reading about it is going to make a difference is it?" or if I repond with "just reading about the game last Saturday" this is met with "and will your reading about it change the result?"
Do you have similar issues and what is the best way to respond?

I must be lucky with Mrs Astral. She expects me to access the forum a few times daily and is always interested in hearing about any developments/new signings etc. :):)

Haha. I was trying to explain the significance of the Neves signing to my special one and she totally blanked me :D

Couldn't have put it better myself EW, as it has exactly the same effect on me.
It was about the only and best way I could put it mate.

My wife will often test me in those instances "what did I just say?" "Something about one of your sisters" (a reasonable guess on my part), "Which one?" ... collapse of stout party.
Let's face it chaps, they are smarter than us on the verbal dexterity skill
I usually get "You're not listening are you"

Thank you Sir Jack

Essex, I try the non-commital grunt when asked a question about a speech that my wife has made and to which I haven't paid any attention. This grunt could be interpreted as "yes", "no" or a "maybe" depending upon what she thinks would be an appropriate response. However, whilst I think that it works, she is too smart to not tell that I haven't been listening.
When feeling particularly brave or wishing to see if the cuisine at our local hospital has changed, I will say "well, I would listen if you said something interesting"

i've been dipping in and out of it since @ 2002 ish i think. in times of transfer activity the current gf has no chance. The Neves saga saw off the last one, its more addictive than Pornhub or XHamster, whatever they are.

It can be a tricky business because the wife is far more atuned to what she is talking about than my attention on the subject matter. When it's Wolves I'm concentrating on it takes my full attention and I think they know this as I'm often told later that I'd said something or agreed to something I have little if any idea about.
