Yeah didn't they have Jan Aage Ffortoft up front back then....few years earlier think it was Autumn 89 after promotion in previous season I remember going to the Swindon away match on a Sunday, horrible ground , Shane Westley got sent off in a 3-1 defeat. We hadn't got our first win of the season yet, think that came at Ipswich away. That bloody magic roundabout near the ground was a nightmare too.

The away end is an uncovered dump.

I remember playing them in the rain IIRC got them in the LC and the League. Colin Larkin (remember him?!) scored the winner in the league game.

Seem to recall them being sarcastically referred to as Swindle Town after they were done for financial misconduct. From what I gather they were far less culpable than a certain North London side who were being investigated at the same time. Yet as we all know it was easier to relegate Swindon two leagues than media darlings Tottenham Hotspur !
