Not dia according to Percy which is hardly surprising given his antics
You could have made the same arguement for Gomes. We didn't and I would say that we would need to look at the bigger picture. If there is a better player who wants to come to us fine but if we think he is a good player and still wants to come here then fine again.

Haven’t heard what he said in full, but the quote here was that wolves aren’t out of the woods yet with FFP.

Percy said “Wolves remain under temporary restrictions and will not be spending big in the January transfer window”

So they don’t exactly contradict each other, it’s just Spiers slant was perhaps more negative in that we’re still under review and Percy was more about us being on track to come out of the other side okay.
Who has imposed these temporary restrictions?

Nothing like Gomes at all. Gomes did everything respectfully he’d agreed a move as had his club
Dia went on strike refusing to play, then refusing to report back after international duty don’t think we need that kind of drama.

We'll make a loss on both of those though.

Also not sure why people are having a pop at Spiers, as he was right? We're going to have to be careful in January, which is exactly the same as Percy has said.
IF it is right that we have to be wary of FFP then the question is WHY. Including the vast fees to Mendes it can only be poor management and bad decisions transfer wise that would make us that vulnerable.
The present set up looks as if it is more responsible as long as Shi keeps out of it.

We don't pay vast fees to mendes ...yes he had a lot of fees of us....but our agents fees were always on the low end in the premier league.....

It's not agents fees that have caused FFP...it's not regularly selling players that does...in order to recycle the money ....the incoming money dried up...

Would be all over this for wingers in our squad if he would be available

Borussia Dortmund are ready to let English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, 19, leave on loan in January as they continue to explore a return for Manchester United's 23-year-old England winger Jadon Sancho.

Wolves, West Ham and Leeds are competing for Fluminense's 26-year-old Colombia winger Jhon Arias.

Now he does look decent. Hard to judge less physical leagues though

We will never compete long term like this surely :(
Depends. Take a big Neto sale in the summer 70m with the others, but you are relying on 1 big sale every 4/5 windows to keep it going. Just doing enough to stay in the league and buy cheaper players. Suppose it might work for a while.

Wolves scouts have been present at heidenheim games watching jan niklas beste
Yduti mentioned beste in late october.Presumably cheap. A wolves type of signing with good goals and assists but under the radar. He plays for heidenheim.

Man utd paid 22m for Diallo......granted he hasn't done much bar a very good loan spell at Sunderland....he is still young .....if you offered man utd 20m for him tomorrow they would probably snap your hands off .....but unfortunately if you want him loan option or loan obligation it will probably involve a fee or premium later payment 25m plus to get him.....

That's the game you pay with delaying payments or attempting to see before you buy ...

I’d be making an offer for Hannibal too out of contract this coming summer. Proper fighter on the pitch

The Brazilian league is plenty physical.

same as Doyle, Bellegarde, Toti etc who are getting slated currently.
Nobody slates them .....they are what they are....toti is a lion who does the basics well but has his limitations....Doyle is young lad who isn't currently a decent premier league option (understandably).... bellegarde is a relatively cheapish signing who might take time to adapt but probably isn't gonna be a world beater ...

Nobody slates them just, people think we lack a few options in the squad and on the bench to be more competitive...we've been spoilt with the likes of Neves etc ....some fans hopes and expectations might take time to adjust and adapt to the new path the club is going down ...

indeed, and that’s why the potential route may ultimately fail.
The players you mentioned though, although potential is the correct word are essentially what they are a 1m 5m and 12m signings..... obviously despite his limitations Toti has been an exceptional find BUT unfortunately if it was that easy then all clubs would just spend small fees . .They might all turn out ok but whether we like it or not continuing with 1m 5m and 12m signings will inevitably only lead one way...

All clubs can find gems no doubt and you can waste money as we have done on big signings but going forward unless we have more finances than currently available we ain't getting any higher than say 12/14th whoever is in charge and whatever tactics , style or whatever they play....
