Why don’t we get Fosun and other investors to build their own mini Las Vegas on the outskirts of Wolverhampton 2/4 different themed hotels with a huge shopping mall inside, leisure & golf complex, casinos, shows on a weekend, restaurants, strip joints!! So we already have the horses and football sorted.. Would under cut any pricey holiday abroad. All of that money coming into the local economy. Away teams and fans could have their own little holiday resort. Big bright lights and something different with the right ideas and invention it could happen. May seem far fetched at this moment in time.

As for a new stadium, may as well just go ahead with the upgrades Moxey and Morgan proposed

I would hope, rather like West Ham, that if the club expanded the ground they would offer good deals for kids to create the future fanbase.
Would really hope they would. I travel from King's Lynn and its incredible how many families with young children now travel to West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham. Experienced similar when getting the train from Oakengates for Norwich Cup game, not the normal blokes but lots of families. Unfortunately the opportunity for them to attend isn't there on a regular basis.

Surely now would be an excellent opportunity to erect a temporary stand, between the South Bank and the Steve Bull, to compliment the Graham Hughes .
The club still has a valid licence/plans to complete the work.
Aesthetically it would look so much better and of course, increase capacity.
Come on Jeff, you know it makes sense.

With Eunice on its way maybe better to wait until tomorrow?

40k ground capacity is the limit, we’d never consistently fill anything higher imo?

There’s absolutely no chance of building a completely new stand just to accommodate an extra 9k, best option would be to push for safe standing areas that would increase capacity and at the same time increase the atmosphere without changing the dynamics of the footprint.
It’s not just about increasing g capacity by 9k, it’s about havIng a stadium that can more easily be used for other activities as well (conferences, concerts, exhibitions etc) in addition to football, and it is about increasing the income from corporate guests.
As for safe standing, my understanding is that it won’t increase capacity by very much at all as the footprint for each person and their rail seat is very similar to the size of the current seats.

One aspect that there that you have put which now more than ever can be a good earner is conference rooms. With the change in the way people work things like serviced offices are very popular. Somewhere like Waterfront in Brierley Hill for instance charges £100 a day for rooms.

A bigger footprint that could hold even 20 odd extra conference rooms could bring in the equivalent of another 1,000 season tickets. Not only that but the food and drink areas can be in use daily rather than every other weekend for a few hours making them more productive too.

I’m sure there are already places in Wolverhampton offering those kinds of services, but give any wolves fan looking for a meeting room the option and I can guarantee they’d opt for Molineux, even if it were slightly more pricey.

Conferences are a thing of the past due to covid companys can get all employees where ever they are in the world together via zoom teams etc

I use Teams/ Zoom every day and it’s ok for small groups but not larger meetings. I actually think that there maybe an increased demand for ad hoc/ temporary conference/ meeting and office spaces for meeting sizes beyond what Teams ca cope with

Agree with that Andy. But businesses will also be looking for something a "bit different/novel" too so staff feel engaged when they do meet up

Some great videos online of big group zoom meetings where people have been caught out doing stuff they shouldn't

Here’s a random one for you:
I’ve always thought it would be fantastic to incorporate an Indian restaurant in the stadium! Somewhere to eat pre/post match but also open all week.
SW corner in my mind.
Just need to make the menu a little bit more different?

My suggestion would be to introduce a “Tarka” bit like chicken tikka but ‘otter!

True to a point, but flexible meeting spaces have replaced fixed offices for some businesses so whilst the way it’s used has changed, the space can still be beneficial in other ways.

Absolutely. There are times that teams need to get together in person, no matter how good the virtual conferencing / meetings. So for companies relying more on home or flexi working, then there will be an increased not decreased demand for meeting / conference facilities. As covid passes, this demand will grow even as demand for traditional office space remains depressed.

Wolves is crying out for a quality hotel. Steve Bull perfect foot print.
if you were going to build a quality hotel in Wolverhampton, I don't think the area round the Mol would be the right place for it (without the surrounding area being developed. no restaurants or other leisure places that close (apart from the Mol) access to the city mainly via subway not the most inviting place at night

Agreed with that. But there were proposed developments for the molineux quarter in the future. Just needs forward thinking by club and council.

And the few that do visit will have redwings and the britannia to choose from. No wonder no one visits.
I think there’s more reasons than the hotels but there you go. If people think a top notch hotel in the middle of Wolverhampton is a money spinner then they are entitled to that opinion.

Express and Star reporting that because of heavy rain before the game, there was a safety issue. It said effected fans were moved to spare seats, from where I was sitting, there seemed to be loads standing on the stairway. If it was just because some rain had got in, they should have tried the Graham Hughes stand today!

If it was rain getting in then big deal?
If it was loose material then you would have thought it was a bigger deal than just that section, especially in those biblical conditions.
