Can you imagine him in the first half of the season waiting for them to get injured?
Toys out of the pram absolutely everywhere….
Probably best we do forget that lolPeople forget Nuno signed him as Jota's replacement when Nuno was benching Jota.
Lot of people forget that
Yes I remember that so well. Big error by the club.To think we could have had Olmo. Sigh.
To think we could have had Olmo. Sigh.
You're confusing end result with intention. Podence was never signed to take Jota's place in the squad, he was signed because we had a regular front three, a 19 year old kid with hardly any experience but huge potential as their support and we needed more depth. We didn't go hawking Jota around once we'd signed Podence, he was signed to add, not to replace, and when Neto really started to show his ability we were in a position where we could accept the bid for Jota. But again, it's not like we were actively looking to sell himThat's some interesting logic. Podence couldn't possibly be Jota's replacement because he played less than Jota. But Neto, who also played less than Jota was Jota's replacement?
It was widely accepted at the time of Podence's arrival that he was the long term replacement for someone. Given that Cavaleiro and Costa had both left on loan before Podence's arrival and that Adams and Neto remained, it was quite obvious when Jota was sold who Podence was replacing.
This bandwagon jumping is like a disease, a couple of prolific posters start something and before you know what's happening it's infected the usual malletheads. Can you imagine him in the first half of the season waiting for them to get injured?

After he didn’t want to go to Spain training with the lads and stayed at Compton on his own?Of course he would, a lovely lad our Dan.
No I'm not. You're confusing end result with intention.
Yes he was.Podence was never signed to take Jota's place in the squad,
Since when has needing more depth meant we got more depth. No one running this club has been remotely interested in having a deep and balanced squad. It's why we've never had one, save a couple of post January windows. That was sorted come the summer though, by selling our depth and balance.he was signed because we had a regular front three, a 19 year old kid with hardly any experience but huge potential as their support and we needed more depth.
You're delusional. We didn't go hawking Jota around once we'd signed Podence, he was signed to add, not to replace, and when Neto really started to show his ability we were in a position where we could accept the bid for Jota. But again, it's not like we were actively looking to sell him
It's like saying we signed Gomes as Neves' was away out the door in the summer. It's like saying if we sold Gomes in the next 12 months, we signed Doyle to be his replacement
