Neves for me. Neto has been good but neves is integral.
But gone missing against inferior opposition far too many times this year for me. Still great player obviously but he's been below par this season for his standards

Have to be Donk cos our win rate with him proves he is the key man ;)

Hands up, how many people fell for that spin?

Sorry to sound so harsh, but I think that says more about the sorry state of the English national side than Conor Coady/Wolves.
You mean a squad with a group of some of the most exciting players in Europe....... Sterling, Kane, Trent, Sancho, foden etc. This group are going to be some squad over the next 5/6 years and if managed correctly, with a bit of luck could go far in competitions. Yes the defensive area is questionable I one respect but still contains players from man city, man utd, Liverpool. Coady has done extremely well to get into the group, is he a starter? Not for me but does his enthusiasm and leadership take him further up the queue over talent? Without doubt. Nonetheless he's been great for wolves and added something missing from the group at national level

Few candidates this season. Up till quite recently Neto easily. But form has suffered a bit and now injured. But apart from Neves, who has been steady rather than spectacular, can't think of one player who has been outstanding! Says it all about a terribly disappointing season.

I think Neves has been really good again this year, but it's got to be Neto

English football has nearly always been in a state and we haven't had many England captains in my lifetime.

Never ever goes missing, always accountable and showing for the ball even if he's not having his best game. He's been severely let down by his partners this year who in the main have been awful, leaving neves to essentially win a midfield battle alone, he's managed to do it more than a few times aswell. Special footballer.

Great post.
He so desperately needs a better or more mobile midfielder alongside.

Neves is fantastic and is going into greater things without doubt. He's been below par more often this season than a player of his natural calibre would expect to be. That's backed up by the drop off in attention for his services from other clubs. He needs to impose himself again next season and taking games by be the scruff of the neck and dictating them. An increase in his conversion rate for free kicks would help him too. It's getting embarrassing every time we get a free kick and the commentators go oh neves the free kick specialist..... He hardly ever gets them on target in the last 18 months let alone in! The last point is slightly tongue in cheek by the way mate.

I dunno why it's tongue in cheek it's bloody true, his shooting from distance has been poor by his standards. However, I can't think of a single game where I thought, Neves has been poor. I also don't believe there has been a drop off in attention for him, every club in the premier League would sign him if they could.
