In terms of contribution to the season, special mention to Donck and Saiss .... I know how sick I felt when I heard of Boly’s injury.... these two slotted into the back three with Coady and the journey continued!!

Player of the Season:
Adama Traore .... just sensational !!

What a journey he’s been on..... from ridicule (and many on here contributed, you know who you are!!!!!) to the point where Klopp acknowledges how special he has become!

Not one player fell short this season, 56 games and they have all been marvellous!

Neves. Every day of every week.

I can’t believe he’s still playing for us tbh. Every summer comes round and at the back of my mind I think he’s the one player that we just can’t afford to lose. Everyone else is replaceable IMO.

He’d walk into any team on the planet. And Barcelona’s twice.

Traore: Unbelievable turnaround so quickly. Love watching him. Love watching the players who have to mark him.

Jimenez: Goals goals goals. Works like a dog. Some days he looks like it’s never coming off for him, but he always pops up with something.

Young player: Neto

OK, I'll play this game.

1. Coady. Played every minute. Agonised every minute. Celebrated triumphantly every goal. Led like a Field Marshall. Coady is Wolves.

2, 3. Anybody else that takes your fancy. I want Dendoncker, but I don't see that flying much.

Young player. Neto of course.

Player of the season should be judged by different criteria than how much of a game changer individuals are. Here there is plenty to choose from in Neves/Traore/Jimenez/Jota/Moutinho/. The type of players with outstanding individual abilities. The poster boys (meant in respect not as sarcasm) if you like. They are what make good teams into potentially great teams.

These players could not do that without those players who's consistent work rate and willingness to do a job means they can perform.

This season I reckon there are at least two that stand out in this category. Dendonker and Coady.

Dendonker's versatility, like most players of his kind, are often not given the credit deserved. He has played defensive, midfield and attacking roles with some important goals and has rarely let the side down no matter where he is asked to play. To do this in a side competing with the best is even more admirable. It shows just what a player he is.

Coady's ever present record and his ability to spray passes around is top drawer. He was given the role as captain and has/is performing that duty with distinction in a top flight side reminiscent of past Wolves great captains.

My top three would be Dendonker, Coady and Neves. On oustanding ability only it would be different.

What? No ones gone for Bruno Fernandes?

Shocking, the lot of ya.
Our players are just grateful to be allowed to share the same blades of grass twice a season what an honour in itself!!

But he, in hovering above them, isn't really sharing...

We are fortunate to have so many players that could merit being selcted Player of the Year. Shows that we have a genuinely strong squad. Other teams (e.g. Villa) have one stand out player who seems better than they actually are due to the lack of quality in their squad

Neves for me. Astonishing player. More often now, he is doing those little things which go unnoticed (which we're used to seeing Moutinho do). One touch and a pass and he's relieving an insane amount of pressure. It looks basic at times, but the guy is a borderline genius.

Raul has been an absolutely outstanding goal scorer and his goal tally for the season has probably passed expectation. However player of the season has to be Adama for the pure excitement and adrenalin rush he provides. It is an absolute joy to watch him go past players with the ball and this does not happen very much in such a consistent manner.

For me it has to be Raul, consistent all season, goals, assists, tremendous work rate, even in defence
Neves very close second, below his high standards for the first few weeks of the campaign but gradually got better and better
Traore has been as exciting as any Wolves player i have seen, and thats a fair few, just he has so much to improve on its frightening really
Special mention Donk, such a versatile player, the epitome of unsung hero
Doc and Rui have been superb again, and really no one player has let us down, although we all had moans about every one of them at some point lol

**** it. I’m changing my mind to Adama.

Many players would have given up last season after already being deemed “not good enough” after his stint at Villa.

He doesn’t have the greatest footballing brain on the planet, but I love the story of focusing on your strengths. His strengths are pace and power, and he’s absolutely killing it with those attributes.

The heart of a wolf.

P.S. Neves is still the man.

Jimenez for me - and quite an easty choice really. To score the number of goals he has - particularly with the way we play / are set up is staggeringly good. That's not to mention his assists / hold up play / work ethic.

Too difficult to choose one, if I had to put a top 3 I'd go Neves, Raul, Traore. That will likely change tho in a couple of hours when I think how solid Rui has been, how Saiss stepped in to the LCB spot when we lost Boly and did a great job, how versatile the Donk has been playing in a midfield 2 or 3 and scored a great goal v Villa then slotting into defence again, Coady ever present and organising, Doc with goals and assists, Moutinho gliding round the pitch... its too hard to pick one.

Shows how far we have come as a club that we have a very "even" squad where 3 or 4 could win it. Id be up for breaking tradition and giving it all of them.

After the season we have had you could make a strong case for about 14 of our squad, they have been so good. However, I would give it to Neves, he is the complete player. Works hard in defence, sprays the ball around with gay abandon, and has a shot that you can only stand and admire.

I like smart players, ones who always look in control, have great situational awareness, who know what they are going to do 3 moves ahead, and can produce moments of pure footballing porn, so with that in mind it has to be Neves

Traore was 23 a the start of the season and Neves 22 so I don't think Neto gets a look in for young player, if you go by the PFA system.

Traore. One of the most exciting talents in world football, and potential still to become one of the best.

It's difficult to choose. We could end up in a School Sports Day type scenario where everyone gets an award!

Most Improved- Traore
Mr Consistent- Doherty
Unsung Hero- Jonny
Mr Versatile- Dendoncker/Saiss
Mr Reliable- Patricio

And that's not even mentioning Neves, Raul, Moutinho, Boly etc.

I actually think with everything that has happened, awarding the whole team the award for what has been a phenomenal team effort in trying circumstances would be quite fitting (cue accusations of a cop out!)

This poll is absolutely disgusting, not one person had mentioned Podence:tonguewink:

Without going in to war and peace as most people have covered the reasons

1. Jiminez - scorers always take the glory, and breaking a record held since 79/80(?) is no mean feat
2. Adama - gets you off your seat every time he has the ball at his feet
3. Coady - ever present and the glue that holds the team together

Again as others have said, most of the starting XI have got a decent claim. I just hope that continues for many seasons!!!!

Neves for me. For me possibly the best player I've seen at Wolves. He's been consistent and at times outstanding for 3 seasons now. Trying to compare him with other Wolves greats I've seen. Did not see Peter Broadbent. Saw little of Peter Knowles, quite a lot of Kenny Hibbitt and for me that's about it. So, yes Neves for POTS and best in my Wolves watching lifetime.

So so difficult this season.

I’ll start with the ones I’m unlikely to vote for, but easily could:

1. Jonny: most underrated player in the whole PL? He’s CL quality in my eyes. He’s been consistently excellent again this season. Thank god Zinchenko bottled it and stayed at City in 2018.

2. Saiss: I’m kind of always nervous when he’s on the field, but I don’t know why? I think it’s because he looks like he’s taking greater risks on the ball than he actually is. He’s been so solid for us this season, either in midfield or in defence.

3. Rui: similar to Jonny, terribly underrated PL player. Commentators rarely seem to mention his pedigree. Likewise nearly all my friends (Non-Wolves) seem surprised when I say he’s got nearly 100 caps for Portugal. He was great last season, but I feel he’s taken it to the next level this season.

In terms of my shortlist of candidates it’s pretty much the same as everyone else on MM and for the same reasons so I won’t go into these.

However, I think I’ll go for Raul. He’s frustrated the hell out of me at times this season, and I reckon he’s probably the player who has received the most stick from me both in the stadium and when watching at home - his decision making has been infuriating too many times.

But I don’t think I can look past his goal contributions, added into the fact he’s basically played up top on his own (with 1 or 2 wide men for support) for the whole season, regularly going 80+ mins. The man is a machine. I hope that his age plus the fact he cost us £30m will price him out of a move elsewhere in the summer. Fingers crossed he’s not a dick and tries to force a move either.

Raul, it's not even close for me. Neves 2nd, Traore has improved but we generally look a much better and more balanced side when he's not playing. See Everton.
