I was watching the Swindon Town v MK Dons game this afternoon and there is an incident in the second half when an MK Dons player is fouled on the sideline, right alongside where the Swindon Town manager is standing. The 'momentum' of the MKD player proceed to take him forward into a collision with the Swindon manager knocking him over. The referee who was following the ball appears presumably on the word of the fourth official to accept that it is the players momentum from the foul which was the cause of the collision. With the benefit of TV replays however it appears to me that it is the player himself who generates the momentum and that he deliberately 'collides' with the manager and that it is in effect an assault.
If you have seen the incident I'd be interested in hearing your perspective, if not watch for any replays that may be shown this evening and see if you agree or disagree with my interpretation.
