Always felt that the character played by Dennis Hopper (Billy) was based on David Crosby.

Easy Rider was formative in me taking a road trip across the USA, hoped to get to New Orleans but spent to long in the Blue Ridge Mountains and still had as many things happening in real life as in the film.

Wouldn't do it now!

By screaming on his twitter that others should kidnap the president's child and put him in a cage with paedophiles? Or that they should terrorise the children of the immigration agents? The lengths you go to to defend these kind of things really does make me laugh.

I get why he said it and he probably wasn't serious but it only takes 1 or 2 lunatics to read it and do what he suggested from his gated mansion. Either way, it's most definitely not a healthy way to defend children, you've lost the plot if you really believe that.

Not really going to any lengths Jim, just pointing out the obvious, it's a bit of a specialism. He was opposing the maltreatment of kids, bit macho and unnecessarily aggressive though I agree, I'm sure Jane would have been much milder and feminine.

No you're right, totally out of order and unnecessary, peaceful opposition is certainly the way forward.
He was 6 weeks from dying though so maybe he got a bit short tempered.

Had a look and it seems he's lost to the faith too so he'll be burning now poor fellow, maybe cut him some slack.

Ancestors deeply religious Christian Scientists and Italian Protestants who escaped to Holland if you go back far enough. Fascinating stuff.

I think some of the tweets were over a year old, but yes I take your point maybe the recent ones were just letting off steam due to his illness. I've just read that he apologised for the Barron Trump one from last year, so fair enough.

Hopefully, he rekindled his faith before he went.
