Looking at the clip, its obvious neither had eyes for the ball, so its pretty hard to have any sympathy.
Not excusing it, in the wider game Muscat was loathed but Rioch was the last person to be shouting the odds. He was always a s**thouse of a player everywhere he went, put plenty into A and E and got binned at Everton because of it. Sitting in players bar at Goodison laughing and joking after putting another victim in hospital, Chairman walked over and quietly said, "we don't do that at Everton". Gone.Rioch’s reaction is priceless.
Great bloke Matty Holmes, and a typical cowardly Muscat tackle ruined his career. Find it very sad that people defend Muscat just because he played for us. He was never hard, he was a coward who went into challenges that he knew could only hurt his opponent. **** house coward who let us all down with a typically cowardly elbow against Grimsby.
Muscat was/ is an arrogant thug, eventually forced to retire from the A-league in Oz because of his thuggery.
Once saw him abuse a young ball boy for not giving him the ball back quick enough and when he was a young South Melbourne player put a cowardly punch on a TV reporter.
Didnt like him as a player and even more so now he's a manager.
Muscat is Anglo/ maltese background, not sure where these claims of him being offended by or called an aboriginal halfbreed came from.
