He has played circa 300 games in 15 seasons (see his Wikipedia entry) - this suggests he has ongoing injury problems and/or not regarded as good enough for regular first team football....

He has played an average of 25 games in each of his last 6 seasons before joining us. 5/6 of those seasons in the Premiership.

and to be honest he is that much better than what we currently have I would be prepared for him to come in for 10 games than put up with the current alternative.

Something that desperately needs addressing in the Summer, if not before.

I recall that at Newcastle, when they were doing okish, he was not an automatic choice and more of a squad player.
