Michael Smith.

600k bid for the Swindon front man according to the Sun.

The Sun reports that were apparently going to bid 600k for the Swindon striker. They report he's 6ft 4" and has scored 11 this season.

If I remember correctly, I think this maybe the chap who scored against us in the away game?? Think he got one over Danny Batth with a neat turn and finish?? Could be wrong?

He sounds better than what we have got, but on the cheap. Doubt Swindon would accept that anyway.

16 goals in 32 games for Swindon, not a bad record.

Not sure he's what we need though, I'd like to see a like for like replacement for Dicko.

He'll do...........but hang on we are a tin pot unambitious outfit who don't back the manager. Can't be true.

We need another striker with pace, in my opinion. Lose Dicko and we lose all pace upfront.

Very highly thought of down there. Haven't seen him play, but my Swindon supporting friend raves about him.

Would we not go the usual route of getting him in on loan now and pre-agreeing a deal if it works out as we did with Henry/Jacobs last season ?

We do need a big lump to vary our play at times so doesn't seem a bad shout despite not being the guy to put pressure on Dicko.

Should of signed Kieran Agard I think, took a backwards step in moving from Rotherham to Bristol City.

He's done the same thing Golbourne, Henry et all did with us last year, BC will get promoted this season.

As I said on another thread, the striker to go for is Benik Afobe at MK Dons, on loan from Arsenal. Plenty of pace and power and is knocking the goals in this season.

Should have signed Callum Wilson

Yep. Looked wildly expensive at the time but in hindsight, he would have been great.

Young, pace to burn and a proven partnership with Clarke. Him, Dicko and Clarke would have given us great options up top.

Why does every thread turn into "we should have signed…"

Arsenal should have signed Drogba when they signed Jeffers instead, should have signed Ronaldo when Utd did instead…. it's football.

Let's move on. The fact we're (apparently) bidding for strikers shows that KJ knows there's a problem and he's looking to rectify it ASAP.

I know nothing about this lad but sounds promising.

He looks promising. IF we signed him we'd still need another. Dicko needs cover.

What makes me laugh is everyone hails how poorly we miss dicko when he's not playing

But people said don't sign agard as he's too similar

'Should of'....... this drives me mad!!

Sorry, but it's 'should HAVE' as in 'we should have kept Mick McCarthy!':D

Pedant over. Rant over. Carry on!

You on about Joel Campbell?

Played 22 mins of football for Arsenal so far.

He's not out of realms of possibility but....

He was playing champions league football last year. Very, very unlikely.

Tom Cleverly has played for England and has a premier league winners medal.

What happened in previous seasons mean nothing.

Afobe a much more realistic target, match fit, quick, strong and scoring goals.

More chance of signing Sol Campbell with our owner.

The Swindon lad could be a very big shout though. We definitely need a striker with aerial ability as we have not capitalised on a multitude of corners and quality crosses so far this season.
I think in todays market £1.6million is more like what Swindon will accept. Has Morgan enough genuine ambition for our club to spend some of that vast fortune he has earning interest elsewhere. I doubt it.
He is probably hoping Sigurdarson has improved 500% or Liam Mcalinden will or maybe Sagbo can.
Wish we had Callum Wilson, we'd already be 10pts clear in this weak looking Championship.
