Really surprised that Ikeme has been dropped. Big, big call unless he is struggling with injury.

The lad has played massive Champions League games and is obviously highly rated. I dont mind this change.

That is a surprise about Ikeme. I wonder if he's carrying a knock still from pre-season?

Hull's back 5 is Premier League quality IMO.

Best in this league by a country mile.

Hull pose immense threat in wide areas, Sam Clucas was a player I urged us to sign during his Mansfield days and he'll be ably assisted down that flank by Robertson who made the transition from Scottish football seamlessly last season looking one of Hulls better players.

I am actually annoyed Martinez is ahead of Ikeme.

If he was injured he wouldn't be on the bench, what a way to treat a player who has been one of the best under your management.

And this isn't a sympathy thing, Ikeme is more than capable at this level.

Loyalty in football eh.

I'd take a draw and a decent performance now.

Although a win and a dreadful performance would be eminently more preferable...

It's been mentioned all week that Ikeme is still carrying a knock and isn't 100 percent. Jonzy and another ITK poster has been saying this all week.

We had a loyal manager, remind me how that finished, on a downward out of control spiral into the 3rd tier with a bloated squad of overpaid dross that no one else wants.

Martinez may be great, may be poor, but I'm chuffed we finally have a manager who is ruthless. Long may it continue.

It must be an injury thing.

KJ obviously rates Ikeme as he brought him straight back in when fit last year even after Kuszchak had kept a number of clean sheets.

Either way, best of luck to young Emi today.

That's what I meant by sympathy, in other cases players with lack of quality under Mick played.

Ikeme doesn't lack the quality.

So it's nothing like the past, this is dropping a guy who rarely lets you down and has been an integral part to your success.

And again, if injured, get it sorted now! Not sitting on the bench.

Tough, game will give a clue to our potential for the season.
Just listening to Waggy, Richards and Bailey on the pre-Sky game taking about the 70's.
I think our youngsters can do us proud this season.

my info is that martinez has been brought in with a view / expectation that he will be no. 1 keeper, ikeme is aware of this and is not happy.
........................

i'm shocked at how soon this has happened though.
the exact info i had was that martinez was brought in to be no. 1 because management was worried that another injury for ikeme would mean an operation.
that doesn't fit with ikeme being on the bench

my other info was of a major bost-up between rvlp and gallen / jackett

Deflected clearance goes to Dicko, who fires it narrowly wide.

How on earth aren't we 2-0 up? Can't rely on Hull being so generous for the rest of the game.

We seem to be playing (bad) long ball when we do get the ball again all

Second chance was a corner from the first chance. Wouldn't have ever been 2-0.
