Like it, or not, can we spare a moment of thought for the person whose job it is to press the play button. Spent half the season hovering over the button in anticipation. Must be the most frustrating job going.

I wasn’t a huge fan of goal music anyway, but in the era of VAR it just becomes plain humiliating when a goal is chalked off.

Bad enough playing it when you’ve scored a consolation to make it 1-5.

Just listening to Norwich playing their goal music there. That’s the company we keep on this.

The club have sent out a survey about the matchday experience today, asking for ways to improve it. Goal music is mentioned. Check your inboxes if you want to let them know your feelings.

My response to this question:

“Goal music is a toxic feature of football, and should be left to the likes of Reading, or better still left back in 2003/4 where it belongs.”

I’ll add Norwich to that. Goal music is for dummies, it’s embarrassing.

I voted against it in the fan survey, it's just not for me.

It’s embarrassing. Quite like it when we sing that daft song when scoring away from home. But playing it after goals at home is properly cringe. It’s all a bit Norwich.

**** it off.

Watch this video and tell me we need goal music:

Imagine that poxy tune we play over the top of this moment, completely ruined.
It's funny you say that as in one the answers I gave in the survey was to think back to the Neves goal against Derby and ask yourself if goal music and fans singing 'der derdy der' would have enhanced the celebration in anyway. I just don't see what it offers.

asked them to forget 'branding' and goal music concerns and maintain the ground at the very least if they are not going to rebuild.
who decides this *******s for a survey???

It might be me, but every time the goals music comes on, the whole ground seems to be 'jigging' to it (if that's the right word?)

It also take me back to Barca........ah, those halcyon days.......

It’s a nice callback to the Europa run and the highest level most fans have seen Wolves be at (and possibly highest they’ll be again for a little while!) I don’t mind it. That said, I only saw 2 goals all of last season so not exactly inundated with experience of it

I feel that’s a very tenuous justification to keeping it! :p

I don’t mind the song too much, as you say just for the Europa memories, but I don’t associate the music when we score with our Europa excursion.

because we score so few goals it`s still a bit of a novelty.
If we were knocking in 40+ goals at home it would become boring

Voted no.

Also suggested no music for 10 mins before match. Ruins the natural atmosphere

Interesting suggestion, it’d definitely put the emphasis on supporters to ramp up the atmosphere.

I thought it was a good survey, felt that it gave plenty of scope for suggestions and they seem willing to listen. Only downside was there wasn’t any questions about post-match music.
