Expected to be confirmed as new Blouse boss tomorrow morning according to Pat Murphy on Twitter.

Big first game in charge and a huge challenge to step up 2 divisions.

Worked wonders at Burton though. They play good stuff at the top of League 2.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that the man is insane to take that job. I feel sorry for him - I like him but want him to fail now he's at that $$$$hole.

Agree, a good manager. Surprised Blues have agreed a package as I said elsewhere Ben Robinson won't have let him go without compensation, but I think it was quite clear he wanted it. Did hear Pat Murphy yesterday saying Phelan was getting close to the job as a safer pair of hands, but always take his word as reliable so expect this is true. Only his heart would make him want to go there though.

Would rather they didn't have a new manager in place by our game.

Can't believe he's took the job to be honest, on a hiding to nothing and probably isn't on a great deal either given Blues' financial situation.

Very good manager. Think he'll be a very good appointment for Blues, much better than that prat Clark anyway. That said, I hope he has an absolutely horrible first match...

All we need to do is score in the first 15 minutes and they will be thinking - here we go again.

People should expect a tight game, unless they go down to ten men early on again. Forget their last 8-0 game.

Forget the new manager they are a very poor team with confidence on the floor. As long as our heads are right and the fans don't expect us to be 3 up after 10 mins we should have the beating of these.

This game is now a lot more difficult for us.

Here we are riding high at the top, they near the bottom coming off a 0-8 result. A foregone conclusion surely?

No!
Early kick off.

New Manager Syndrome
Professional pride at stake for them.
They'll have low expectation as will their fans.
Any break we allow them will be seized upon and will be used as a springboard!
An Alamo spirit can be easily fostered.
Rowett will give them a clean slate to 'start again'!
AND
We're usually hopeless in these circumstances!!!!!

Their away form is actually fairly decent over the last year, which is the only reason they stayed up last season.

Time for us to break the hoodoo of poor results when we've had the chance to go top of this division.

We need to make the atmosphere electric on Saturday. It's a big occasion.

A possible value bet for anyone on Saturday could be 0-0. I might have a tenner on it myself, I think it has that kind of game written all over it.

BUT I do think if we score in the first 20 minutes we could well go on to win it, and win it well.

I just think the longer they keep it at 0-0, the more confident/comfortable they get, the more frustrated we will.

All fair points, but let's not forget how the Alamo finished. They can have their heroic defeat as long as we slaughter them in the end.

Agreed with most all that WWM but blouse really are in a mess. Rowett would need to be a miracle worker of extraordinary powers to sort that lot although I accept strange things happen.

The Alamo was done & dusted in 20 minutes, the heroics was all mythology, I'd certainly settle for us putting the game beyond doubt in that space of time.
