Did anyone see Leicesters champions league games at home last season.The away supporters of Porto,(or it could have bin Club Brugge ) was letting off that many flares it was unreal.How the **** do they get in with them ? How the **** are German fans allowed to walk through Central London letting flares off and stopping an already congested capital city.?

I was right in front of this. Fair to say neither side covered themselves in glory. The stewards were very heavy handed and provoked the situation.

Interesting to hear it was Mansfield stewards. They're notorious for being complete ********s to away fans in the lower leagues.

The stewards did anything but provoke the situation as all they did was try to restrain him and stop him jumping the barrier. Some might argue that they were heavy handed and used excessive force to do this but the problem is if he did get on to the pitch then they would be criticised for allowing him to do so. What happened afterwards there is simply no excusing as you can't go windmilling in and using your head as a weapon at anyone let alone women.

It has been said that they were Mansfield stewards but if the incident happened at Mansfield then it would probably be said that they are Notts Forest stewards. The reality is that nowadays stewards work at more than one club and more often than not it is the lower leagues side who bring stewards in from the higher clubs as the smaller cluns can't afford to pay stewards to go on the necessary courses. For example, although I don't know if this is still the case folllwing their relegation to national league north but the stewards at Kidderminster Harriers were generally Albion stewards.

Far more pressing matters than some fans letting off smoke bombs.

Just going through some pictures of the weekend, managed to capture what kicked it off.

Don't really want to post them and potentially incriminate the guy, but you can see what started it was completely by accident with the ensuing reaction by the stewards completely enflaming the situation. He'll probably get banned anyway for the afters.
