Very sad news
A proper Chairman
Apologies if I have got this wrong as I'm too young to actually remember it first hand but I am sure after some of the reading up I did on the Bhatti era - when Ellis was director at Wolves he put the club into administration in order to try and buy it on the cheap.
not really the place for that discusson imoApologies if I have got this wrong as I'm too young to actually remember it first hand but I am sure after some of the reading up I did on the Bhatti era - when Ellis was director at Wolves he put the club into administration in order to try and buy it on the cheap.
Really? With all respect to those who have posted the usual RIP stuff, I doubt anyone is that cut up about his passing on here. This is a discussion board after all.not really the place for that discusson imo
Broke his leg, funny he never mentioned it,Really? With all respect to those who have posted the usual RIP stuff, I doubt anyone is that cut up about his passing on here. This is a discussion board after all.
I'm guessing if Dave Whelan died, you'd ban all mention of his broken leg?
The fans didn't - they hated him. From an era when Villa had some class.
RIP
Not, going to lie, the fact that we’re only just recovering from the mess he put us in whilst his club prospered and benefitted leaves a sour note.

Never speak ill of the dead. Yes Doug Ellis had his faults, but haven't we all.
R.I.P.
I don't think anyone is speaking ill of the dead. I've certainly not read anything derogatory about Doug. However, if you've made serious errors of judgement in your life that affected many people's views of you, don't be surprised if your loss isn't mourned. Quite simple really.Never speak ill of the dead. Yes Doug Ellis had his faults, but haven't we all.

Hitler hoped so!Not sure I total agree, plenty of people who've died who've had ill spoken of them, does death absolve all?
Some comments on here are disgrace
Why exactly, fact is he put the Wolves into administration in the hope he and Ken Wheldon could buy the club back cheap, as a result we ended up with the Bhattis and almost the end of our famous club, should that not be mentioned?
Which ones, and why? Some comments on here are disgrace
Of course there is. What are you saying, though -- that he was a saint and above criticism?More to life than football
