Wolves are a healthy 25th

But it really does show what we fight against in the prem with 13 teams above us. This is why we want to increase our revenue

Brighton!
Yes we're 14th in the PL. The gaps aren't massive though past the megaclubs. Imagine telling someone 24 years ago that Man City would be the biggest (by revenue at least) club in the World!

This is an interesting comment on sustainability and highlights why Wolves cannot compete on wages or transfer fees with the big six, Shockingly wolves are 14th in the premier league behind Brighton

South of England + big 6 factor i’m afraid. Only exceptions being Villa and Leeds for obvious reasons

I'm guessing the difference is the league prize money for them finishing a place higher than us last season (by 3 GD!).

This is the group we need to be focusing on, Leicester and West Ham's are boosted by European football otherwise they'd be in and around the 210-225m group really.

It shows what a difference European football makes though and a bigger ground.

It makes you realise how far away we are from being a 'Big' club.

Our ground is way too small. We will drift further without moving capacity to 45k or more

real revenue growth is based in your international standing and associated merch.

make our "brand" fashionable up shoots our revenue, our nickname - Wolves is the vehicle for this (not wolverhamtpon wanderers) play attractive footie, get the fashionistas behind us and as the club continue to do expand into other areas. I know this is not what some want to hear but its the only realistic way

We must be the smallest city in the top 30 and certainly not one of the richest! Our growth really does have to come from our wider "brand" rather than just increasing local support.

The club bang on about increasing revenue but continue to reject the idea of expanding our stadium which is surely one of the better long term ways of doing so?

Aren't shirt sales in Asia, America etc just as revenue earning as ticket sales? I think gate receipts are a rather small part of a clubs income these days. Merchandise presumably doesn't cost hundreds of millions and kit sales don't look as silly if you return to the Championship, as a stadium with 20,000 empty seats. Some entertaining football would help expand our revenue, perhaps.

Yes and no. Bigger capacity means potential for more ticket and in stadium sales. It also opens up other possibilities for renting out to interested parties for events/ concerts etc.

However, if you only have a certain amount of money, you may find the ROI on other activities to be a safer bet than a costly stadium expansion. This is particularly relevant coming out of the covid situation where you have to manage things very carefully. There are still worldwide shortages of some products and it will take time to get back to pre-covid days.

It's kind of self-fulfilling though. Newcastle will magically be higher up now, I think, because their greater performance will greatly boost their income. It's chicken and egg in my opinion. If we had a season or two of over-achievement, our income would look much better.

Which is what Fosun clocked when they bought in, promote and sell the club from champ to premier, or promote and market the brand from UK to global, monetise the Wolves brand and you can break into the top tier.

not much point promoting heavily in Europe or UK as the brand market is saturated, but USA, South America, China, makes sense

then you build the stadium and they will come
