Madness. Should of had at least until the end of the season. McClaren didn't do no better last season and hes a proven manager.

Started poorly, picked up after a while and then dipped right off again. Money doesn't buy success

Not surprised, they need a manager who knows how to get out of the league they certainly have the squad capable

But if they don't go up this season. They will have an embargo and will end up losing a lot of players

But they have acted decisively whilst they still have a chance whereas we would have pithered and dithered.

Guess he will a little break , count his pay off and turn up at Bayern Munich when Ancelotti takes over in the Summer.

Rotherham will most probably be relegated. Their decision to part with Steve Evans after all he did for them was baffling in the extreme.

5th in the league, 4 points off the top. Absolutely ridiculous.

Go and get him, Wolves!

This division and the clamour for P/L riches is going to wreck many a club over the coming years.

Evans is weird one. Tactically useless, buys half a new squad each season, many don't even play. Just a good motivator. Type of guy you see all over the none leagues.

But I guess the freedom he gives players and confidence they enjoy it. But I can't see him lasting at a championship club for long unless someone else is buying his players.

Of those who have changed manager has it had the desired effect? No, QPR are no better off, same with Fulham and Reading. Managers need time and aren't getting it.

Derby have spent spent and spent and it so far hasn't got them far. Yes you need money and investment but in this league it's not the be all. Money does not get you out if this league. Once you get to the premiership that's when you need to spend.

Wasn't the best appointment in the first place, took a risk and panicked.

All we had to do was be half competent this season and we couldn't even do that.

I don't think many would call McClaren a proven manager IMO, plenty of other words come to mind though.

Not saying I agree with it merely pointing out they have been decisive.Funny if they miss out again.Where do they go now?Pearson maybe for next season ?

Derby say it's nothing to do with results it's the style of play. Yeah right.

You cant beat a good pither in a crisis.Just think we could have their sort of owner (or Leeds) sometime soon.

I think Middlesborough, Hull, Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford, Leicester, QPR and Cardiff will disagree.

You seem to contradict yourself. You say managers need time and yet you say these clubs are no better off. How do you know when it does take time to change something.
Would you have judged Pearson by Leicester's early performances in the Premier of towards the end when they pulled off the remarkeable spell to save themselves from relegation.
However here all we see is inertia yet Jackett keeps his job. Sherwood did well to save Villa last season but got booted out and the new guy aint made the difference. Birmingham under Rowett have gone flying up the table in comparison.
In other words there is no exact science to this.

Derby fans on one of their forums seem shocked and, like other on here, think he should have been given to the end of the season.

Fair few comments, though, that it may have been the turgid football being served up and by inference a dour style that could have speeded up his demise. Which, in reality, may indicate a man out of his depth and this resulted in negativity and fear throughout the team. Sounds like another manager who receives a lot of stick on here!

Still, goes to show being a no.2 at one of the worlds greatest clubs is no guarantee of management success. Take note, Giggsie....

Derby should get Mick in and then sack him the same day they get promoted.

Highly doubt that since the statement they've released states the decision was made based on the style of play not being developed rather than results.

The statement is really interesting actually.

I'll have Derby's type of owner anytime, Multimillionaire, supporter of his club who hasn't sown his pockets up ?

They've lost the plot appointing the academy coach. I don't get it, its not like no one would want the job! Surely they could have appointed a proven manager. As for Clement, the bloke spent £30 million and are 5th and can't buy a win. Seriously should be winning the league spending £ like that and the squad they have. It's as if they're trying to bottle it :D

Watford didn't spend lots just used the loan market, QPR are riddled with debt and not looking like going back up so hardly a success story, for Cardiff see QPR....... Boro have slowly rebuilt so can't compare either to be honest. They've thrown money at Derby and bought premiership rejects, appointed a fancy name because of where he was coaching previously and expect better? Sack the manager and replace him with another man who'll probably want to spend similar amounts, but similar standard players and probably also get sacked when it doesn't all click within 6 months of a season
