Traore possibly but come on, there would have been riots outside Molineux if we'd sold Raul at the end of the 2019/20 season, even if we'd got £60m.Agree also need to learn from the past, negligible return on Traore and Raul if we had sold at their peak at least £70M plus the dross we wasted money on. Some of our best additions cost very little in comparison for managers and players 3-5 year cycles.
Where has 40 come from?Sell RAN for 40m, how much of that do we keep, how much do his previous club get, and is it worth it for that price?
Selling RAN for £40m this season would be the biggest act of self-destruction since the **** sold a certain no.9 in 1986. Another season of performing like he is and we will have a bidding war between the biggest clubs in Europe and some Saudi clubs and will be quids in.Sell RAN for 40m, how much of that do we keep, how much do his previous club get, and is it worth it for that price?
His previous club would get about £10m of it.Sell RAN for 40m, how much of that do we keep, how much do his previous club get, and is it worth it for that price?
I thought is was 50% of the profit over £10m but we could buy out the sell-on clause for £10m at any point. His previous club would get about £10m of it.
This is a really good point, I completely forgot about the Euros.Get Neto fit for the euros. If he does well he could go for silly money
Its a mechanism to reward selling club if he goes on to big sale whilst capping the amount that could be. We can buy it out at any point but it would only make sense if sold for 30m+I thought is was 50% of the profit over £10m but we could buy out the sell-on clause for £10m at any point.
I assume the buy out would have to be done before any deal to sell him is finalised because otherwise the clause is pointless.
I'd want to at least try and get some of the cost of the sell-on buy out covered by the buying club though. Let's be honest, he'll be going to one of the richest clubs in the world whichever one it ends up being.
Yeah but if we've had contact with the selling club(s) and we know the price we're likely to get and we know that means we'd have to pay Angers more than £10m then we'd have to activate the buy-out before the sale is agreed/completed.Its a mechanism to reward selling club if he goes on to big sale whilst capping the amount that could be. We can buy it out at any point but it would only make sense if sold for 30m+
If we sell him for less than 10m Angers get 0
If we sell him for 10-30m Angers get between 0 and 10m
If we sell him for 30m+ Angers get exactly 10m (Buy out)
He was starting a few games before his injury but most likely he'd be coming off the bench if he makes itThis is a really good point, I completely forgot about the Euros.
Of course the flip side is whether his body holds up with a busy schedule. Do you know if he starts for them or just a squad player?
Rinse City for all we can on this one; RAN couldn’t be a more perfect fit for them. I genuinely don’t think there’s a better left back/left wing back in the league.
They were talking about Neto earlier in the season and one asked can we give Nunes to wolves for NetoMan City have a thread dedicated to the possible transfer of RAN. Picked out this gem from one of their posts:
'Why are we after all these Wolves players, you’d have thought the club would have learnt its lesson with Nunes. The best club in the world buying players from Poundland for Harrods prices… no thanks'.
Agree, however whether we like it or not in the present game, there are moments where the money is important to the long term development of the team, assuming it is spent wisely.Traore possibly but come on, there would have been riots outside Molineux if we'd sold Raul at the end of the 2019/20 season, even if we'd got £60m.
Delusional bunch. Ait-Nouri will cost about £60m and you can take 10/15m off that if they throw in a player either way not bad for our profit marginsMan City have a thread dedicated to the possible transfer of RAN. Picked out this gem from one of their posts:

Is it important?Where has 40 come from?
The only problem with trading players like that is the hefty sell on fee like Doyle has a 50% sell on fee.Delusional bunch. Ait-Nouri will cost about £60m and you can take 10/15m off that if they throw in a player either way not bad for our profit margins
If we get a good 3/4 years out of him we can’t be too fussy. He might stay here for longer hard to say. First season he’s doing alright by my standardsThe only problem with trading players like that is the hefty sell on fee like Doyle has a 50% sell on fee.
Haven't they learned from the Steve Daly transfer? Although I think they sold us robert taylor so fairs fair.Man City have a thread dedicated to the possible transfer of RAN. Picked out this gem from one of their posts:

Don’t think I was responding to you was IIs it important?
Rumours and numbers just materialize and away we go.
Couldn't agree more. There is a kind of death wish amongst some people here. I think they enjoy the excitement of 'selling' and creating speculation around it. AIt-Nouri is an absolute jewel and barring a massive bid (£80m) no way should we sell him especially with the sell on clause related to his previous club. Same with Cunha and Gomes. Absolutely vital, all of them. to any credible attempt to improve next season. Why do people start threads speculating about selling our best players every time they hit form ......,,,,,,,,and then moan about the state of the team .......just curious
Lopetegui’s still out of work following his Wolves debacle. Perhaps he’s not as elite as he thinks he is.How come lopetegui didn’t see ait nouri as an elite player. This an elite manager I am talking about.
There’s always Watford.Lopetegui’s still out of work following his Wolves debacle. Perhaps he’s not as elite as he thinks he is.
The assumption is that every player is a mercenary who will naturally go to the biggest team he can as soon as possible. Not all players are like that though.Couldn't agree more. Does Pep actually like to play traditional full backs/wing backs any more? Majority of this season he's preferred to play CBs at full back, even Walker is not built like a conventional full back
Or perhaps fortunately if you are of the view that he is inevitably bound for a bigger club and therefore one with very deep pockets is the best place for both him and us.Amongst Citeh fans I know playing Gvardiol at LB seems to be because Pep doesn't trust him centrally yet and they don't have proper LBs anyway. Think RAN could easily play the inverted type that Zinchenko/Cancelo did too. I think RAN is the most Pep style player we currently have unfortunately.
I just think losing the likes of RAN or Cunha this summer is ****ing depressing, however it is dressed up. We lose them and bring in some really exciting young talent this summer only to lose them the following summer? How are we making progress? The cycle just keeps repeating itself. This just condemns us to being a mid-table, so-so Prem side for ever. Linked to Milan from what I've read.Lopetegui’s still out of work following his Wolves debacle. Perhaps he’s not as elite as he thinks he is.
Can't see him on any of the training pics this week xAny news on RAN? We are due some good luck with injury news. Really hope he is fit for Arsenal. We badly miss him.
Well last week he said he was expecting him to play… so I’m not so sureGON press conference 1pm so hopefully we'll get good news then
