They'll pay it back in no time, just by the £5 to watch training. Easy peasy. I also think that a friendly against Chorley at £10 a pop should more than cover it if the 5,000,000 who went last time do it again.

Yes please, can I have it at half time, meet at the concourse? When should I pay you back?

Hey, don't spoil my business plan. I'm on Dragon's Den next series. I've started an 'I was at Chorley' Club.
£50 and you get a T-Shirt and an 'official' certificate, no questions asked/no proof required
This time next year, Rodney, we'll be millionaires.

Also thinking about an 'I saw Bergkamp in Asda' society and 'I Dropped A Scalding Pie On A West Ham Fan' Club.

It's worrying that it's for "operational costs". That implies the day-to-day running of the club and salaries (let alone new signings) are taking their toll.

How much extra are we getting from the europa cup - ticket sales and group stages. Is it 10 million at the moment.

It's not worrying. It's just tax efficient. Man City with the richest owners In football do the same. Don't think the City fans will be losing any sleep over the short term loans their owners have taken out.

Hard to judge ticket sales, but prize money for the Europa League depends how far you go:
  • Preliminary round: €220,000
  • First qualifying round: €240,000
  • Second qualifying round: €260,000
  • Third qualifying round: €280,000
  • Play-off round elimination: €300,000
  • Base fee for group stage: €2,920,000
  • Group match victory: €570,000
  • Group match draw: €190,000
  • Group winners: €1,000,000
  • Group runners-up: €500,000
  • Round of 32: €500,000
  • Round of 16: €1,100,000
  • Quarter-finals: €1,500,000
  • Semi-finals: €2,400,000
  • Losing finalist: €4,500,000
  • Winners: €8,500,000

So we came in during the 2nd round, so get the 260k Euro, and the 280k for the third round, and the 2.9m euro for getting to the group stage. We also beat Besiktas, so get an additional 570k Euro.

So far we're on about 4m Euros - around £3.4m.

Of course, we win a few more games and that pot will grow significantly.

Will that be paid at the end of the tournament though?

Its worth noting to that the £130 million we get for finishing 7th last season is paid in instalments so we've probably not had much of that so far.
Apart from signings and wages the club will have also had huge up front costs so far this season with the china trip, europa league games aswell as the money spent on Molineux over the summer

All going pete tong, tweets C Ross
Absolutely nothing to worry about.

Other options would be:
1. Further cash injection by Fosun, but could upset FFP.
2. Expensive overdraft.

Good commercial decision whilst waiting for tv money to arrive.

It's simply money in hand.

Hopefully it's to help facilitate a splurge surge in the new year.

Absolutely no idea. :D

But by the way this thread is explaining it, it's good to know it's nothing to worry about. Just managing how we get our money, on our terms, rather than needing additional cashflow.

Agreed, bloke chats utter **** based on a nonsense agenda he has. Are we sure he’s not on here lol?!

I think he probably has a point based on Guo / Fosun relationship with Chinese Govt..... but it's his agenda which is annoying. He seems to be willing it to happen, and desperate for some sort of status.

Not worth it from what I’ve seen, might be fine for Man City who have 70% possession but I think he’d struggle in our team currently.

Kinda agree. I hoped the signing of Vallejo, who like Dias is a CB better suited for teams who push higher up and have more possession than us, would mean a change in tactics to one that was more positive. But this is not the case, and as long as we play the way we do, a more no-nonsense type of CB like Bennett is going to do better than any modern ball playing CB for us.
