Leaving aside the name calling nonsense it's interesting looking at how this is being reported by various sites. Wolves are being "unrealistic" I read somewhere and another how city may walk away if we don't concede to their alleged final offer.

It's quite simple, offer and pay what he's worth to us or go away. They can walk anywhere they like, he's our contracted player.

Wait - so you’re excusing this behaviour?
Not at all. Just pointing out that the very real chance of joining City, who are possibly the best club team in the world right now, to play Champions league football and have a strong chance of championship medals at the end of the season is going to turn anyone’s head.

It’s certainly a better proposition than clog ball under Gary.

I've seen his attitude and work ethic first hand. And there's no way that aligns with what is being said.

Excuse me for defending someone I have a lot of respect for, when being slagged off based on propaganda.

You can have a lot of respect for him all you want, he doesn't respect Wolves, hence the not training, which has been reported locally now as well.

Thankfully, we have a game tomorrow. If he's the great guy you're implying, he will be involved.

When he's not, you can hold your hands up on here. If he is, we can do the same.

Gathering a bit of pace and webspace as we know so I’ve put into a separate thread as it may well have legs.

So what’s our number then Wolves fans. What do you think we’d accept and what do you think we’d spend.

Personally I think anything North of £65 million and we’ll cave. I would hope that we will have a player coming on loan in the other direction as part of any deal. McAtee or Kalvin Phillips.

Hopefully this also allows us to sign Elvedi and one or two others. No chance the whole amount is reinvested.

Our number should be *uck off city and leave him alone. Because we need to be getting players in ..not letting them go

He won't be. Will likely be a City player by then, and if not, we won't risk playing him.

Yep it’s a really, really easy situation.

We turned down £47m as it doesn’t match our valuation. We’re very, very likely to turn down £51m because again, it doesn’t meet our valuation. If we’re going to sell him to Manchester City (one of the richest clubs in the world btw), then they need to stump up what we want. Otherwise, no deal. They found £80m down the back of the settee the other week when they wanted Paqueta, I’m sure they’ve got £65m-£70m for Nunes.

Again I agree Contrarian. I don't know but I'm sure he came to us under sufferance and as a way of getting into the Prem and a better move asap. Imv he never played as if he really cared. He's certainly a talent but rarely bothered to show it in old gold. He wants out so get shot.
Agreed . And when the window was near or open he played his best.

No one has a problem with that.

Wolves deserve to get a fee that reflects his ability in the market. He shouldn't kick up a fuss anyway, but certainly not until Wolves act unreasonably - which they have not done yet.

I absolutely agree - but there is no excuse for his reported behaviour it’s indefensible.

How convenient.

I'll say again for avoidance of doubt... I don't know if he has refused to train. I don't know anything about the finer details of the deal, but I won't just accept a negative narrative that goes against everything I know and believe, because "a respected journalist" (lol at the oxymoron) has reported it.

Thank god Wolves fans don't run this team. He's doing this because his agent is trying to force a move. Why panic and give in. We still hold the power. He's not going to not turn up and get fined all season. He's not going to sulk and not play after the deadline if he doesn't get his move. He'll be letting his mates down, he's not that type of character and Pep won't sign a guy that won't play for the team.

Relax, stay firm with our valuations and get the best deal we can.

It's not his skill that I hate. It's the needless turnovers.

Maybe those don't happen on a better side, but it was scary to me with how frequent they were in our own half.
Pep will be doing his nut if he loses pocession all the time in their own half.

Haven't we set a precedent with Guedes? Sulk and look as if you don't care very much, we'll ignore your contract and let you play where you prefer, even at a loss to the club.
Good point. I’m shocked clubs don’t have the appropriate remedy in their contracts it’s gross misconduct. Sporting recently pursued Leao (and Patricio/us) for different reasons, but it would be great to see a club sue a player for refusing to play/train and win big. Would send a great message.

Wolves have briefed the press on this, it is clear from the Ornstein, Percy, Maher reports. He has effectively downed tools.

I hadn’t realised when posting that he’s refused to train. Not good at all from Nunes.

City fans are having mixed views on his strike action with one commenting:

“don't like to see players do this either but it should be noted he never wanted to go to Wolves. This was a Mendes driven move and now that the opportunity has arrived for him to join a top club like he wanted he is desperate to leave Wolves and not waste another year of his development there.”

Sums up my views. Which irks as I really want to see players like Nunes thrive at Wolves. But sadly we aren’t very good a bringing out the best in players. We never seem to get a style of play and we are way too negative. We can’t score goals and are so inconsistent.

Nunes, Podence, Guedes....there's a Mendes thread there. Mercenary players, in it solely for their own gain, who are part of a casino wheel turned again and again for unscrupulous profit whatever the cost to clubs caught up in it. Grateful for Jota and Neves in particular but boy are we literally paying the price for placing nearly all our chips in his ever-spinning game.

Or is it Shi/Hobbs briefing a load of cobblers again to push the blame away from the club when we accept an inferior offer at the last minute and don't spend on replacements?

‘He never wanted to go’ - but he did. Tough faeces, sit down and honour your contract.

We are not being unrealistic though. It is a high price but they have come in really late and its going to be a massive pain in the **** to replace him. Letting him go now could make a massive difference in the prize money we get.

Do you know Nunes personally? Seems like you’re suggesting you do?

I’m sure he’s a decent bloke but this is an unprofessional decision and obviously taints fans’ opinion of him. He’d have known that when he did it. I completely get him wanting to move - I’d want to leave Wolves too at the moment as it’s a club going backwards. But it’s hard to have sympathy with him when he’s earning a fortune to do most people’s dream job.

It’s been reported by Percy who is spot on about Wolves 99% of the time. Sorry but it comes across as a bit patronising suggesting you know more than any of the rest of us.

I genuinely don't mean this in a nasty way, but I don't know how you can mock some of the best journalists around given the information you've given on here over the summer. You've been way off on so many things.

Every outlet is reporting he has refused to train, Nunes hasn't disputed it (yet) which you would do considering it's questioning his professionalism. It seems highly unlikely he won't have left by tomorrow, so if he is involved it will end this.

Yeah, I've stuck up for Fosun quite a bit this summer.

But if we actually bent to City for a 5 million profit this late in the window, I would have been done with them as well. You've giving us no time to replace someone who would likely have started every game for little benefit.

That's why I always assumed that Doyle would come as part of the deal. But now that it's been reported that would be a separate move, it's quite strange that City thought we'd be okay doing this.

Hey Man City, give us 55 million and Doyle, and end the drama. Thanks.
