Yep, it was actually a pretty horrific shot that looked be be dragging wide of the near post if it wasn't deflected which would have seemed almost impossible from the position he was in.

Credit where it is due he certainly isn't afraid to pull the trigger in the box.
It wasnt going wide but the keeper saves without the deflection
Ill take anything at the moment
Surprised at Luton i would have thought they would attack us more but seem satisfied with a draw up to now
Second half could be different they have to come out more now

Hwangs shot was gonna go wide to be fair. deflected the other way past the keeper.
That's impossible to say. Looked like it was going near post, but only moved a foot from strike to deflection. Claiming it was going wide is just your bias. He might not be the best footballer, but that's 11 goals now. Utterly ridiculous to say sell him for £15m, you could barely get a Championship plodder for that.

I’d sub Gomez for Doyle. I feel another card coming his way.

Don’t think we’re able to play Doyle next week. Happy to be corrected

Better than midweek and could have scored at least one more (Hwang), but still not particularly impressive. Goal was deflected and a pretty soft effort from their backline.

Luton are clearly Championship quality. They leave a lot of space in midfield and in front of their box to attack and are quite flimsy in the tackle. Morris has bullied Kilman though (is there a single forward he can dominate?) so they still have ways to score and Barkley was allowed to get off a dangerous shot from the edge of the box that might have given the game a totally different complexion.

It will be very interesting to see if we can break the hoodoo of playing coma football after leading at the break. GON and Derry need to deliver a motivating, upbeat team talk now, one that gets the players fired up to attack the rest of this game and not set them up to just drift through it.

I have to say that the 5 minutes after we scored weren't too encouraging, as we seemed overly content to play walking football - RAN especially too intent on slowing it down and doing his trick on the ball than running into the space and putting Luton under pressure.
Morris is predictable - they are just hanging balls up in the general direction of the penalty spot for him to attack. Block his run and job done.

Also with the fact we play so many long balls and bypass the midfield so often it is strange we didn’t see more of sasa before he went out on loan.

Yes, while also totally ignoring several opportunites to play through balls from the midfield to Cunha/Hwang and even Doherty who all made good runs.

The goal was from a good old long hoof to get the ball to cunha as quickly as possible and see what he could do……

We are too reliant on long balls direct to the man or in behind.

We have rarely created much across the season with a good passing move
