Why the hell do we have to be told? Why are fans so desperate for the club to be “open”? Would you feel better if Shi came out and said “look we’re in the pocket of Mendes and he’s making millions from the Middle East so we don’t want to upset him”

Have any other club explained how they voted and why?
Any clubs making decisions which appear to be against the greater good of the game should explain to their fans why they hold that position.

This is why we will end up with a football regulator, because we can no longer trust individual clubs to do the right thing for the integrity and long term survival of the game.

The sort of decision that shows our management are business first and not necessarily passionate fans, like Sir Jack for example. Fosum have looked at any way to increase our ability to compete financially with the big boys in this league.

What's so wrong with Newcastle loaning a player in January. . .

It's not about integrity ....it's about the likes of arsenal, utd and Liverpool not wanting other clubs to use a loophole and finish higher than them ....

The same clubs group of clubs who wanted to ditch our league system They are not talking the moral high ground and those clubs should not be allowed to dictate rule changes, mid season, if they don't like something....

It's fine to disagree, but watch your blood pressure.

I would like the club to be more open. It's an opinion!

Wouldn’t they be looking at more sponsorships from within the group if that was the case?

Clubs are businesses first and foremost. Directors of any business have certain legal obligations, one of which is essentially to put the interests of the business first. Putting the "greater good of the game" first could in certain circumstances be a violation of that.

Got two issues here though.

First, in the long run, undermining the integrity of the game by allowing clubs to circumvent FFP, isn't in the long term interests of the clubs. For example if 14 clubs thought they might possibly get relegated, would all their directors be expected to vote for a no relegation clause?

Second, are we voting in the best interests of Wolverhampton Wanderers, or the wider interests of Fosun, which is the responsibility?

Re your second point an interesting question particularly given that Chinese law is likely to be (very?) different.

Re your first point l don't necessarily disagree.

Maybe they don’t think it’s for “the greater good” so why should they explain? Ultimately Fosun have voted that way because it benefits them and indeed us, they don’t need to explain anything to anyone. Any other clubs explained their vote to fans? We as Wolves fans seem to have an obsession about being told things, it baffles me. I genuinely don’t know what you expect them to say on the issue if pushed, and if they were they’re hardly likely to tell the truth.

Long term survival of the game? That’s a stretch. It’s a multi billion pound industry, it survives regardless.

Just because they haven't done it yet doesn't mean they won't. I think the moves made into the music and gaming industries together with growing the overseas fan base demonstrates their desire to maximize revenues from the club/brand. They want the door left open to manipulating player moves to increase value and options. I think Newcastles owners are less worried about generating revenue and more about how they can spend it to improve their chances of winning either legally or within the rules.

Esports and music are going to bring in bugger all though.
